Re: Domestic Yanmar List

Pretty sure Gizmo,

The 336D weighs in slightly over 3500 lbs. with an impressive 27 PTO HP from their 3 cylinder diesel. That thing is a monster in relation to it being a CUT and sold for about $13K new (in '91).

Their (Yanmar) newest T80 Crawler, is a whopping 4400 lbs equipped with the turbo and puts out 67 PTO HP.

Re: Domestic Yanmar List

So the 336D weigh is a little more then the 3110D.The 3110D weighs 2910 and is 31 pto hp. I seen one in the paper a few weeks back . But I did not go look at it. I should have,I have never seen a picture of 336.

Re: Domestic Yanmar List

While the 336 may have been the largest model made for the US market, it is not the largest made by Yanmar. In the F series there are models up to the FX42 and turbocharges 4 of 1.5L displacement.

Mark, are you sure on the weight of the T-80? Seems light to me. My FX24 with the FEL and filled rear tires tips the scale at 4k# and the T-80 is a lot larger than that.

Re: Domestic Yanmar List

Just took a look at the Yanamar site and see the T-80 tips the scales at 6700# for the longer track version. The 4400# is lift capacity of the 3pt hitch.

Re: Domestic Yanmar List

Yep...I stand corrected. Both Rainbow Agriculture (currently the largest west coast importer) and another site confirm the lift capabilities at 4400#'s and their weight at 6700.

Good catch and thanks Mickey.

BTW, This and future lists are most certainly welcome to the closest scrutiny...Any and all input, data changes and suggestion will make it a very good, accurate and quick reference thread.

Thanks, Mark

Re: Domestic Yanmar List

Stopped in to the JD dealership and asked about price on the T-80, ballpark $48k.

Re: Domestic Yanmar List

OMG...Talk about sticker shock.

I lived minutes away from Lakeport, CA. and went to high school there. Originally the place was surrounded by the Bartlett Pares, Black and English walnuts and even Kiwi orchards. All the orchards encompassed the country for miles. My last visit a few years ago, and it's all gone. Replaced with hundreds of grape vineyards and small label wineries. Actually a beautiful sight to see.

My very good friend sends me updates of the tractors and equipment they use...many used the small Yanmar's and other small tractors to work the vineyards and now switched to the T80's. And they work them constantly, at harvest, spraying, pulling narrow long wagons, wind machines and even smudge pots at the slightest threat of freezing weather. They fuss and maintenance these places like a greens keeper at a golf course.

I wish I had just one picture to post...but I lost them all.

Re: Domestic Yanmar List

One other thing is the Zen-Noh model Yanmar's will be the same but with a "Z" in front of the model number.

Mark777, I have noticed that a number of the lists of gray market tractors fail to list or show specs for the F/FX 235. Any idea why? Was that model produced for a special purpose or vendor?

First Welcome to MTF Vietvetharry!

All of the information I have are from sources like dealers, parts suppliers, owners and my personal notes. This same information is verifiable and accurate to the very best of my knowledge. I've just recently acquired access to very extensive model library provided to me by LMTC. This access has allowed me to double check all of the information and add new data to the gray market tractors in the list.

Unfortunately I have very little information on the F/FX 235 and if you're the proud owner-operator or have reliable information on this model, I will gladly add it to the list. All I ask is that your numbers are carefully recorded to make the MTF "Quick Reference list" accurate.

IE. Models like the F-255, F-395 and F-445 with the Yanmar badge turned out to be counterfeit models with the 'Kukje' (Korean ?) engines. Fortunately the information was verified and never made it to our MTF list.

The Gray market information is in a 'Rough Draft' state and under construction. In the near future it will be better organized and certainly improved esthetically.

Thanks, Mark

Thanks Mark777, my F235 is my 1st tractor and I have throughly enjoyed abusing it on 5 acres of new pasture. How can I determine the background on my tractor and provide our group with information on this model?

Harry,

Right off the bat, Yanmar traditionally lists the first two digits of their series of tractors to identify the PTO HP. On your tractor it would be 23. A quick and generally accepted equation of 23 X 20% = 4.6 added to your PTO HP, gives you the engine HP...or 27.6. Perfect? No, but well received as very close by domestic standards and acceptable by owners, parts suppliers and dealers.

There should be a thin green and aluminum embossed data badge attached somewhere on your tractor. I would say on the valve cover or near the engine somewhere. The specifications are in Japanese but the number-letter combinations normally start with how many cylinders followed by a 'T'. IE. a YM1610-YM1601 has 3T75-U. (Maybe Mickey or Ernie can tell us exactly where it is)

Determining the manufacture date is a little tricky. A very accurate way is to read the 4 digit numbers on the face of all 4 Wheels. You may see something like 0588 or 05-88 meaning final assembly in May of 1988. The better Japanese exporters tag or code the same wheels (with a black lumber crayon) before the tractor is disassembled for containerization and shipping. Then re-attached at point of entry...BUT in some cases during reassembly, the wrong or unmatched wheel can be put on any unit that it fits....

Apologize for the long winded response, but want you to know that a good 75% of the list is comprised by owner contributed information. Then verified ONLY if the model falls into LMTC's vast parts library. Hope this helps.***BTW, Do you have any pictures of your F235??***

Mark

The tag Mark is talking about is located on the valve cover, left side towards the back, on my model.

The marking Mark mentions about exporter is still on my tractor tires and also on the rear tail lights. All same numbers but that shouldn't be too much of a surprise since I purchased my tractor from Ernie.
