Nice going so far! I seen a guy do a IH Cub Cadet in Cat Yellow and that looked great. Yes, I agree that not all rattle can paint are created equal. I believe the pulley would look fantastic if it were painted black. You could run some tape inside the grove as to not allow paint in there.

Looking good!:Orange_tr

Didn't get as much done today as I hoped, but that's how things usually go. I set out to count and buy all the hardware. Got it all counted and went to TSC. I figured it would be easy since they do it by weight so I wouldn't have to write a buncha numbers down. Sounds good, but TSC has a crappy selection of hardware so I went to Reynolds Hardware. Spent about an hour and a half there until they closed. Got most of what I need but i'll go back tomorrow.

That is a lot of stuff at once. You are more sane than me i start to lose it about 20min into writing every little thing down.I do it in several trips. But oddly i do like getting new hardware once i'm driving away.

Thats gonna be me when it comes time to rebuild the SS/16 :) Fortunately, I have a TSC about 15 mins away with an excellent hardware selection

Looks like you got more done than you think! What grade are you going with? It does look good on paper. Interesting. Smart way to get things done!:fing32:

Stainless steel, you guys are funny! I went with standard grade zinc bolts. it's gonna be stored inside as long as I own it so it should be fine for another 40 years or more. It was tedious, but luckily at this store I only had to write the amount and price.

I planned to paint the wheels, hood, and dash today but it's been WINDY. So I bought the rest of the hardware and went to town on the rebuild!

:trink15:The Sears is turning out great CHEVY&SEARS! I like the Cat Yellow more so than the original Sears Yellow. Problem with stainless steel fastener is that the metal is soft. Not that I don't plan to use some ss .

Good job with getting all that hardware too!:thThumbsU

That i definitely the color yellow Ill use when I do mine! Looks awesome

Well, just finished reading through your entire GT18 to 18/6 conversion /rebuild thread. You sure did a great tear down, prep, and paint. Not to mention all the other repairs like the fiberglass work. Very nice work man!

I'm a Yankee from Ohio. I once spent 3 months with my grand parents down near Clewiston. I got burnt purple. Fished Okechobie Lake a lot. My cousins have those wacky swamp buggies and pitbull dogs, but the best ride is the air boat with the 720 Continantal aircraft engine running through the Cycprs swamps.

Thanks for giving the Cub guys something to do! Yes, its rather dead around there sometimes ,lol! :tee:

I'm glad you guys like it! i love the color too. I've never seen the "real" Sears yellow in person, but I love this.

Thanks Joe! I live in Pensacola, which is in the far Northwest of Florida. I've always thought the panhandle should be part of Alabama (and i'm sure most of us agree) because we're nothing like South Florida. No swamp buggies or air boats, but the beaches are awesome. I went on vacation down there a couple years ago and was shocked at how different it is. Here's the sunrise from Pensacola Beach Monday morning.

Got the transaxle installed. I learned the hard way on another tractor to mount the seat spring BEFORE you put the transaxle in. You can't get to the front seat spring bolt.

Somebody in this tractors past ran into something pretty hard. Nose cone smashed, lower grill pushed against the engine, and now I figured out the gril lriser is bent to. Now I have to hammer on my new paint! :banghead3

Wrap the shifter in tape to prevent scratches.

I think those tires would work out great for you! Not too bad of a price. The Sears GT is looking great!:tee:

Miller Tire is a great company to deal with! What about the front tires?
