Ive yet to find anyone with nos blue pull handles, including all of those vintage nos parts lots on ebay. If you're lucky enough to find a lawnboy that used a blue pull handel, 99% of the time its cracked and needs replacement. What I've done is spray paint the new white ones rustoleum royal blue. Its a very close good match. Thats worst case situation though.
Uhhh...Doug, I would refer you to page one. :hide:

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

I'm 40. As a kid in the 1970s, I admired Lawn-Boys. Our neighborhood was full of them---they were the best mowers on the market at that time.

Turned 50 in November last year. Used Lawn-Boys in the 70's and 80's. Caught the bug a couple of years ago. Neighbor was moving having a garage sale. Was selling an 89 model S21BSN and I had to have it. Been hooked since. :biglaugh:

My granddad got me started , he has a 1973 19 inch D-600 . when I was old enough he would start it and I would mow till he would give me the shut it off sign and empty the grass catcher. That was in the early 80's and there were 10 lawn boys on the block. He had an earlier one that was lime green cause I found the block off plate to it I want to say about in the 60's model. I have been down hill ever since LOL.

i am 51 and been in the lawn biz since i was 19. i used lawn boys when i had my first biz in nantucket mass. i moved to fla and found i needed self propel due to the thicker grass and heat! it wasnt till the toro takeover that lawnboys adopted a self prop sys that would stand up to comm use . this is why i only have newer lawnboys. for me the toro take over was a good thing-till the demise of the dura-force that is!

Hey Lawnboy Dan, Good to see there are other "Mature" individuals on the site. Now before that offends anyone less than 50, understand that is just a nice way of saying other "OLD" folks. :biglaugh:

OK, now I feel really, really old. :hide:
I'm 62 and I know there are people older than me on the site.
I've only been addicted to Lawn-Boys since last summer.
Although I have owned a couple since 1980. :fing32:

Mike,

You do not need to feel old. YOU ARE OLD! :sidelaugh

Just kidding. It is good to read your comments. You keep it lively.

The guy next door has a new lawn boy and loves it. He must he cuts 2 acres with it every week. Takes him 4 to 5 hours hours and 3 tanks of gas. I cut my grass, trim, wash two cars, and clean the tractor up and he's still going. I did get to use in once it was very nice. Had a Snapper and Toro over the years but never a lawn boy.

Okay, so since we're giving ages - I'm 50. As for Lawn Boys, I live in the country and have most of my life, except the 7 years I've spent in the Army. We don't necessary have lawns, but yards. I have about an acred and half at my house to cut, another acre and half at my mom's, about 2 acres at the church and my brother-in-law has about half acre, and I cut all of it. I used JD lawn tractors for the most part, but have 2 lawn boys to do the trim work and mow along the road. I think if it wasn't for LB's, I would probably go next with a Snapper.
