You (like the rest of us),will have to get by ,with the # 07012,manual for "series 6 and later"This seems to be the latest RER service manual available. The major components, haven't changed much, and when you get the owners, and parts list you can usually tell the small differences between series.

Thanks for the response. I think that would work for me. Any idea where can I download a copy of that 07012 manual?

Thanks!

Andrew

Just wanted to let everyone know that a number of friendly and helpful folks on this board have reached out to me and I now have copies of the all the documents I was looking to obtain. It's really nice to find a down to earth forum where people want to help and are willing to make the effort to get someone like me (who is new to Snapper RERs) going.

Regards,

Andrew

Hello. I have an extensive collection of Snapper manuals in pdf form in which I am willing to share to those in need. However I do not have the elusive #7012. If anyone has a 7012 pdf to share I would be gratefull.

THANKS:thanku:

I also am looking for a manual for my old RER that I just bought. I don't have a Model # as the plate has been painted over. It has an XT under the seat in large letters but that is all. If you think the manuals you guys have would work, my email is floydlong@suddenlink.net. I would sure appreciate the manual(s).

Thanks in advance.

1.For starters, what kind of steering does it have: Triangular 'bar'?, bicycle type handlebars, or square (rectangular) 'steering wheel'?
2. 1 or 2 blades
3. cutting width
4. weird tank behind seat or rectangular 'box type' tank?

:dunno: :howdy: :dunno:

If you could post a picture of your RER it would definity help. Even if you could not post a pic of your particular mower there may be a pic or two on MTF or the internet that you could substitute for yours.

I'll try my hand at this: first the XT means "Xtra-Tuff" or something like that,it includes ball bearing rear wheel bearings,vs bushings,8 pinions in the Differential vs 4(maybe)rod end bearings on the tie rods, some one end some both, and maybe a few other touches. The best match I could come up with was to a 3312X6S,series 6,however the joker is the 12&1/2 HP Briggs engine, that's not supposed to have been available, that early, the muffler, also looks"late". The matches would be:"handle bars",stepped deck cover,2piece "Bumpers",later 33" mowers had a 1 piece bumper, chain deck suspenders, and the bar that supports them,"sprung seat. This model was also available with a Tecumseh, and Wisconsin-Robin engines, and a manual start Briggs.I would vote for an engine change. You could check the parts list for detail differences, I like the "EMPARTS" guide,I use SEPW.com/parts/parts look up/Snapper/Rear engine rider/disc drive/series 6/3312X6S.the photos didn't
load right right on my computer,so I probably missed something, you have the mower to look at,so try your hand.

Several vendors use the "EMPARTS"listings in one form or another,I have never bought parts from SEPW,so I don't recommend them pro or con,but I can't remember hearing any thing bad about them. The "EMPARTS" is hard to save or print but its great for quick parts reference, and they show most models.
,from the Comet to series 24.

I think it's a series 6. I found the parts schematics and there's several models that have the same parts as mine. I'm taking off the deck and won't be using it. I just need a tow vehicle for my garden trailer and a ride to spray Roundup.
Thanks for the info.

The main differences between models in the same series, are the engines, and decks, and the parts that go with them, such as the wider front ends,on the 33" deck and the different parts used on them. And also the different Exhaust,on the engines. I couldn't read the engine numbers,in your photos, but you will need to use them for engine parts, the same place can be used for engine parts, just enter"Briggs&Stratton" and then the engine model number.
