Deerenut: Here is the numbers off of a KOYO bearing for the 50in deck. This bearing came from a JD dealer. OG19458RKA ROM KOYO
If you go to a NAPA or Carquest they should be able to match it up with what kind they carry. The last deck I did I bought the "cheapest" bearing and all 6 are still in the mower.

Thanks KJD! That number will help. Sprayed my bearings with cleaner and I am going to soak them over night. Hopefully the number on them matches your number... a good cross reference. :thThumbsU

Cannon; I was thinking that the casing might be warn... But when I was turning the splindle by hand the outside casing of the bearing was staying in place. I was wondering what it would do at high speed.:dunno:
Going to call this morning to see if I can find bearings. Thought maybe the bearing had worked its self smaller and that the new bearings would correct any issues.:praying:

deerenut, In the last photo you posted the fifth item from the left is the bearing housing or "hub" it is called. In the video it shows the hub/housing is worn so it allows the bearing to flop around. The bearing(s) seize and allowed the outside part of the bearing to turn in the hub. You might as well look for new hubs to be replaced.

I was hoping that it was not worn out, it looks like I will be looking for a new one if there is nothing that can be done to fix it... I was really hoping that it was the bearing that was the problem. Thought I would see once I had the bearing in my hands... The bearing was not seized but they seemed to easy to get out. :banghead3

Can any one tell me are the hubs deck specific or is there one that does many different decks? :dunno:

Deerenut: If your needing new hubs for your deck here is the numbers I came up with.
Center hub---M45273 (Sub for AM107500)
outer hub----M11031 (Sub for AM107466)
outer pulleys---AM104780
center pulley---AM39954 if you want the speed up pulley it is AM116141
Idler pulley---AM37249 (Sub for AM107468)
If you want to see an exploded view of it all go to jdparts.com and join for free. Its a little hard to figure out how it all works but when you do it is well worth the hair pulling.
For the 50 in deck go the catalog # 1959
Hope this help some.........KJD

Kansas John Deere, One would wonder why a company would make/install two different hubs and pulleys on a mower deck. It don't make one bit of sense to have these two size hub/pulleys when one size/type would do the job. But, I'm not the overpaid John Deere engineer.

KJD; It is fellows like yourself on this forum that amaze me. :thThumbsU

I have logged into jdparts it was quite confusing. I need to have an afternoon that I can figure it all out. I tried to call my dealer today to see what the parts are worth. My next call was to be to a jobber, but work got too busy today. :banghead3 Maybe I'll have time tomorrow. :praying:

:thanku: all to posting your help!

I've had good luck using roofing Flashing in this situation where a bushing or bearing needs tightened up. Cut a strip that fits around the outside of the bearing, then put it in the mandrill housing, sand press the bearing back in.

Well it has been a good day. Family visits, over to visit the Timmerman Brothers... My 70 year old mother picked out a model 300, should be picking it up for her next week.:thThumbsU

Oh and I put the deck back on the 322. I will be looking for another deck for the duck, but for now it is back together and working. That is thanks to the idea that Larrybl shared. Larry; my hat is off to you. :hatsoff: Shimmed the hub and away we go. Now the deck is quiet and smooth that is once I balanced the blades. I am thinking that might have been the cause of the hub being in the shape it was. The blade that was on that spindle was way out of balance.

Gentlemen balance your blades! Your deck will thank you for it. :fing32:

I will try to post the pictures;; There are two kind of fittings . One you have to thread. The other is a Drive in. They are Both good, I drill in on the bottom of deck at a bit of an angle Upward. About 30 deg. So you miss the bearing.
Tony; that looks like a great idea... Why do John Deere not do that? Thank you for sharing the pictures. I was not sure just what you were meaning.

All the extra does is a heat sink for the bearings, the bearings will not see the grease unless you remove one side of the seal and then only the lower bearing.

Regarding the 50" decks - anyone get oval shaped wear on the front brackets where the mule drive attaches? Mine has.

Just wondering if there is a trick to dealing with it other than taking it to a welding shop and having them cut off and new pieces welded on.
