If you have one, post pictures of your home made trailers. I had one years ago but I think I junked it or sold it. Don't have any pictures.

Here's one of my more recent ones:

It worked great except for the side rails. They were just tall enough that a car door wouldn't clear them, and just narrow enough that a full size pickup was a tight squeeze. It's actually about six years old in those shots, I replaced the deck and painted it just before I sold it last year. The fenders got mangled when the scrapyard crane operator dropped my Mercedes on it.
They don't show up well in these pictures, but there are stirrup steps at the front corners. Those were a last minute addition, and have proved to be an invaluable thing on a taller trailer like this.
I don't have any pics of my current one, but it's not done. I slapped a couple pieces of OSB on for decking since I have needed to use it a few times already. I haven't even had a chance to paint it yet.
My current one under construction is progressing slowly, it's a gooseneck flatbed with a 20' deck. I'll probably sell it and build one the way I want.

Not a great picture, but this is a trailer my dad built about 30 years ago, and we still use. It is a tilt-bed to haul his Kubota CUT, or whatever else comes along. It has an unusual axle made of a single piece of 2" solid square stock with the spindles lathed into the ends. It also has fairly large brakes on it, so we think it probably came from a big camper or something.

Here's mine! I found the frame behind the house with something like a 1920's welded straight axle attached (Now how were those welded spring eyelets going to work again?) It was 4'x8' I widened it by 9" and made a new tilting tongue for it and the 15" Radial T/A's were part of the detritus left by the neighbors ,then tenants, from "h,e-double toothpicks" The sides double as ramps, but I really do need to build a tailgate for it.

My latest, a 4'8" x10' scrap hauler:

I built this one to haul scrap appliances, stoves washers and dryers mostly. It gets parked behind the local Sears, they load it, I haul it. I wanted a low deck, and since I didn't want to spend the money on a drop axle and it would just be hauling scrap, I welded the axle straight to the frame. Surprisingly, it pulls great. I think a lot of that has to do with the position of the axle, but you can't even really feel it. It also backs very nicely.
I'll probably build a slightly wider one with a torsion axle to use for hauling my Terra Tiger.

Got this from a neighbor before they moved. The dad passed away & this was something his brother built for his snowmobile. It's a 4x8 tilt-bed with 4.80x8 tires. When I got it, the tires were rotted & the plywood bed was too. I put a sheet of 1/2" plywood on it right away & replaced the tires. I eventually replaced both taillights & the wiring on the right side, as well as the 4-flat connector. Last week, I replaced the plywood floor with 4 2x12s & a ripped down 2x4, all bolted down with carriage bolts & nylon locknuts. 2 coats of silvergray porch & deck paint & done (til next year when I can paint the frame). For tie-downs, I welded 8 eyebolts, 4 on each side.

Today I hauled a Craftsman GT with a 50" deck (had to use 4x4s to prop the deck up above the fenders) & have in the past, hauled quite a few MTDs, a Cub Cadet 1450, Toro Wheelhorse, a couple Murrays, etc. Tomorrow...I plan on hauling home a FREE golf car with a Harley-Davidson engine. Glad I added the 2x12s! Very solid.

I have built a lot of trailers but only have photos of the ones that I currently have.

The gooseneck was built four years ago and the sleeper was added this summer.

The utility trailer was built three years ago.

This is my "trash trailer" that I built about 30 years ago.
It is a dump bed that is hinged at the very back of the bed.

Image

There is a metal top on the dump box that opens on each side for throwing trash into the trailer.
The trailer tongue is raised up for storage and folds down for towing.
It is locked in the down position with a pin.

Image

There is a hand winch on the upright boom for dumping the trailer.
the cable goes up and over a pulley on the top of the boom and down to another pulley at the bottom of the trailer bed.
The cable goes under that pulley and back up and is fastened to the top of the boom.

The bottom of the dump bed lifts all the wayup the boom.
