My tractor has the 8 speed trans, it has a bad bearing on the input shaft, the large ball bearing #6308. According to the serial number, it looks like it was made late 1978.
Is it possible to change it without removing the PTO (live pto) shaft in the lower part of the trans ? It looks like the PTO gear is in the way preventing it from coming out.
Has any one tried trimming the lower two bolt bosses, that looks like it would allow enough clearance . ?
