My first! Pretty sure it's a '79. No tag on the body but the B&S code is a '79

Still on the trailer. Just brought it home today!!

I have the same one with Craftsman GT16 trim. 78 is what the po told me. Mine is Tahitian Gold (Mopar Color) I had left over. It was originally a silver color. I have ABUSED mine for 20 years. Rough ground, ground hog grinder, mowing 3' pasture grass, grading 40 truckloads of dirt at neighbors, and so on.

After 10 years of service it's retired and now restored. I replaced the rear-end, gave it fresh decals, and tuned/cleaned it up. I'm going to replace foot pads next.

^98Murray That would be a good Idea!!
Nice looking machines!!

If you were within 200 miles of me, that GT would soon be on my trailer - if the price was right.

That is a nice one, isn't it BBY:thThumbsU:thThumbsU

BBY?
Having a small engine repair business, I see a lot of mowers come through the shop. I also buy and trade mowers to repair and sell. This is the first one that I dread selling. I mowed my hill with it yesterday on it's maiden voyage and loved it. I put it on CL and priced it at $650, a little high, in hopes of hanging on to it for a while. If I can sell a couple more maybe the wife will forget I have it. Lol. I've got another widebody I built for the kids to play around on. I'll have to get some pics. The deck was trash and it had a bad 12hp motor on it when I snatched it at the auction. I dropped a OHV 16hp in it and stripped it down to lighten it and changed some pulleys. It will pull a good 18" wheelie now.

That's the perfect plan....

"Honey, it's worth a $1,000 and I have it at $650 with no bites, I better just hang on to it for a while" lol. :fing32:

Here's my dad's little Murray rider. I swapped a Brinley plow for it as seen with a bad engine, I through an 8hp tecumseh in it for the time being until I find a 12-14 hp B&S. Dad doesn't have a huge property so for extra seat time he mows his neighbors lawns. The guys got it bad now! :trink39:

Also notice the Jaguar hood ornament on it, adds a touch of class...

Finally got some pics to show...this is my circa 1995 Husky branded Murray...it's a hydro, I have re powered it, and done a lot of work to the deck, but it tossed the belt today and I am planning on replacing all the spindle bearings with the belt this time.

Boy that was quick lol. We don't mind yellow, as long as there's no green .

Here are a few shots of mine. She was given to me last summer. Model # 40601B, and date coded 0552. Am transferring the deck from mine to my buddies Huskee. Just figure'd I would share with you guys out there. Now, I am certain that the 40" deck will transplant onto the Huskee that had a 42". So far, everything appears to line up okay. :trink39:
