hey all ive come to the point where im ready to paint the grill on my john deere 212. i know ive seen comments on here about owners whove painted their grill green . if you guys dont mind can someone post a pic of it please, id liike to see what the finished product looks like on the tractor. im pretty sure thats how im gonna do it but would like to see how it looks :thanku:

I'll stay with the original colour which is black . I feel if you are going to do a resto you keep it original or at least as close as possable .
I think the black looks fine as it breaks the front end and blends with the black engine .

yeah im torn between keeping it original as you said or making it "original" and painting it green. thanks for the imput though i appreciate it

While I love the all green body on the larger series tractors, I think the smaller series look better with the original black. Maybe it's just the differences in the body styles between the two, but they look better that way to me.

I have been curious about this.

All the 318's I see have a green grille. Were they this way from the factory, or am I seeing only customized 318's?

That is 1986 colors I have never seen a 318 any other way! or for that matter 322, 332, etc.
BTW 1986 318's had points not electronic ign.

Guess Deere was trying to make a statement with the 318 and similar models, huh?

Or are there other GT's before the 318 with a green grille as well?
