I have a rear PTO from my HT20 I am looking to sell. I am not sure the value of it. I also have the driveshaft with it. Model# 18082 serial# 0100117. I was told it had a woods mower on it. It also has 2000 RPM casted in it. I havn't seen one before. They must be pretty rare?

Thanks in advance. Mike

I am in Waterford. I have talked to a gentleman in Metamora. I think he is a member here, but not sure. What would a good price be?

I saw a 540 RPM PTO go not too long ago for over $800. Your 2000 RPM is more rare than that, so probably worth that much more to a collector. On the other hand, there is not too much use for a 2000 rpm PTO on a Bolens tractor; most of the attachments that you might like to use it for are for 540 RPM PTO's

Thanks LPbolens,

That is more than I thought is was worth. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay. But your info helps alot. Even if it doesn't sell I now how much to look for in trade value.

WIZOF8,

That is what the previuos owner told me that it had a Woods mower behind.

Thanks Mike

In looking at the case I see a tightener adjustment, I wonder if it has a chain inside? I know of no attachments that run at 2000 RPM's. It might be rare but but whats the point if it can not be used?

It is probably one of those items that only a collector would be interested in.

Are there any other implements that are 2000 rpm besides the woods 48" mower? I havn't heard if too many. I was told that the cub low boy may work, but I have not confirmed that.

Mike

Yes there is chain inside the unit

I bought a tiller from the same guy in NJ that had both.

You can pull parts manuals for both the 540 & 2000 rpm PTO's from Sonny's website. Yes, there is a chain in the 2000 rpm. I think the 540 uses gears.

I don't think Bolens made many standard 2000 rpm CAT 0 implements. I know Wheel horse had both a Tiller and a rear finishing mower set-up that way. JD may have had some too. Simplicity / AC Power Max tractors were heading that way too. So, any of those implements should work on your Bolens using the 2000 rpm PTO. IF you can use it with the 3 pt hitch. Has anyone seen them both on the same tractor?

2000 rpm & Cat 0 was supposed to end-up being more popular. But when the compacts came out, most folks wanting those kind of implements upgraded and 540 rpm & Cat 1 became the popular choice for small implements.

DDechri,

Thanks for the info. I must be one of the luckiest guys on earth. I have the 3PT hitch with this tractor. It needs to be painted and put back together. The PO diassembled tractor to redo. He was going rebuild it the way he wanted it. It may not have looked like a HT20 by the time he was done. I like them to look original so that is how it will be done.

Mike

Can you post up a picture of both the 3 pt & PTO mounted on the tractor. I'm sure there are several of us that would be interested.

Thanks,

- Dave
