Lookin' good, Rick. Glad to see you got the ol' girl up and running in time for the Nor'eastern dumping.

I know what you mean by the old iron. I have an older Ariens. Not too old but older than the Crafstmens and MTDs out there. My neighbors who have them complain that their chutes often clog with the wet snow. I have yet to have any problem with the Ariens chute. Sure, this thing's a beast and it lets me know everytime I use it but I believe it is superior to the newer machines.

Here she is:

Here's another ol' beast that I had to fire up last weekend after she sat for about 6-7 years in my garage in the Pocono mtns. This Simplicity is a little older than yours. I guess around 1966-67. Model W walking tractor with snowblower attachment. This thing lets me know who's the boss when I use it.

Love that old iron! Don't let OSHA see it!

Is that a Yamaha in the background? I love those old bikes, too.

Nice bike, and they were pretty quick! I have a 2983 CX650C Honda that's been mothballed for a lot of years. Someday I'll take another ride on it...

Hey John, that Model W is the stones....no nonsense, straight ahead machine- no belt gaurds because back when this was made it was expected that the operator knew enough to keep their **** hands out of there....and if he/she was so foolish would learn their lesson and not instantly try to sue somebody......sadly the days of common sense and responsibility are nearly extinct...sorry 'bout the rant..
I am a Gravely and Ford afficianado myself, we have a Ford 1900 now, my Dad had a couple of Ford LT's that he beat the stuffing out of, and I am looking to get my hands on a Commercial 16 and a older Pro-Master - I am also looking to get my hands on the money to pay for them - and that will only happen when my CFO (wife) says so. Rick

Rick, I totally agree with you. Too many law suits out there becuase of the lack of common sense.

The Fords are LGT models, one a 12 horse model upgraded to 16 horse with hydrostatic and manual lift. The other, I won on Ebay. It's a 16 horse with hydrostatic and hydro lift. Both are made by Jacobsen and badged as Fords. Both are tough as nails.

The Gravelys I only recently acquired since joining MTF. I had read about them and finally starting looking for cheap units. That's something hard to do since Gravelys hold their value. The 16G I got for $350 after haggling the guy down from $400. It had a blown Magnum 16 which he had parted out. He was going to part out the rest of the tractor but I couldn't stand to see a clean intact machine parted out. He also threw in a blown KT 19 I will be redoing with the help of a Magnum 18 block I have. He wanted $500 for the pristine deck it came with. I passed on that.
The 18G I got from a kid selling it on CL. He needed to get it out of his mom's garage. He got about 25 emails but, luckily, I was the first one so I got it from him. He could have gotten alot more for it, but he didn't know what he had. Thankfully, this one came with a deck even though it is a little beat up.

Currently redoing a Kohler K301 for a Gravely 8122 I picked up on CL for $250. It had a grass collection system as well. I will be flipping this Gravely for a profit and keep the grass collection system. I may even flip the collection system if I get the right price for it.

Here's a couple albums of pics to look at if you're interested.

Hey John, havent stopped by MTF for a bit.....very nice work on your machines, they all look great. I have never had enough room under cover to be able to do the kind of work you have done. If all goes as planned though I should have a 20 x 30 shop/garage built by fall of this year....We've got a Case 648 and a sweet old Howard Rotavator that are just screaming to be restored.....Rick
