I don't think it is photoshopped - I've seen them before. People have been "improving the breed" forever. I imagine an area that gets a little light snow could get cleared in a hurry with that set up - like a used car lot or gas station, but I bet it would get bogged down pretty quickly.

+1

But man, is that a lot of weight hanging off the front of that Gravely. :eek:mg:

I'd like to see it in action. I bet it works pretty well. Might need duals to balance out the length of it in heavy snow. Ever see the video on youtube of the guy who attached a big piece of plywood to the front of his 50" deck? that's a good one.

Looks like just the skin bolted to the stock plow probably not real heavy. they have a pusher for the front to move cars around in lots and toll booths and they weigh alot more than that plow! So like mentioned earlier if its just a couple inches of snow it would push it easily.

Is there something wrong with you if watching a Gravely video on Youtube is more fascinating [and more sentimental] than 99.9% of the crap on television or in the movies nowadays?

Seriously.

I could watch this stuff all day long, whereas I have been up with a colic-y baby for the past month, all night long, every night, flipping through hundreds of channels on digital cable, and I can't find a dadgum thing that I want to watch.

I almost always end up at some 50- or 60-year-old movie on Turner Classics.

The weakness of the Gravely with an oversized plow is in tractive effort, which is really a function of the weight on the tires. Notice the backward cant on the car pusher? That's a very clever design, as it uses the weight of the car being pushed to force the Gravely downward. You'd actually have to push down on the handlebars a bit, but as the load increases, so does your tractive effort. I remember Caterpillar played around with the blade design and the resulting dynamic forces of the load being pushed, on the D-11's, resulting in the Carrydozer which was more efficient when pushing material over distances.
