I used the 222 to plow out after the snow we got yesterday and I noticed I could only angle the blade a little. There are 5 angle holes, I usually just keep it straight but yesterday I wanted to angle it. It would only angle one hole to either side of straight. Since its cold outside I haven't even looked at it. How hard is it to fix???

Before a reply can be made on a repair, you need to find the problem. Something must be obstructing the travel. What is it? Remove the obstruction and it should work. Is it badly rusted? Is it striking the tire? Are the holes clear? Is the something stuck in the turn table?

Report back when you get it checked out.

i agree it could be anything from a bent pin to something blocking its path the plate that it turns on may be slightly twisted or could be snow and ice packed in tightly somewhere preventing it

I have John Deere and Wheel horse plow blades, you don't go more than one hole when adjusting the blade for snow plowing. If you put too much angle on the blade, the front of the tractor just gets pushed sideways by the snow.:fing32:

ok, I tried to straighten it out, I took the plow off and whacked it with a sledge hammer which did nothing. Any ideas on straightening without a torch? welding shops are expensive in Connecticut.

Do you have access to a hydraulic press? Do you have anything really heavy that you can wedge the plow and a bottle jack into?

Anyone want to use thier hy-split to help 222 out? :14_6_5:

i did this before. if you have a trailer with tonge wheight put the plow under the jack that lifts the tractor put pressure on it when you can see it straighten out without bending anything eles leave likethat for about ten min or so take pressure of and it should be straight

case222 came by today and we put his bent plow support on my press and straightened it!! I have never seen one bent that severly but it was cake for my 20 ton wide frame press!!

Thanks Bob.
Like Bob said it was bent pretty bad, a few minutes on the press and it was straight. I also had a chance to check out his nice tractor, I'm kinda jealous, his has shiny paint mine has a few shiny spots under the rust. Getting it fixed today was perfect timing with snow forecasted for tomorrow.
Thanks again
Dave
