Greetings everyone. LX277 owner from New York. Just found this place.
Welcome Storm, good to have you here with us and enjoy the forums.
:MTF_wel: You will only find single stage OEM blowers. Looks like Bercomac makes an aftermarket two stage. And don't let a single stage scare you - I've blown 6" of packed sleet with the single stage on my 180.Thank you very much, been lurking around for awhile and seems like a nice friendly group! Lots of great information also.
I tried searching, but couldn't really find an answer to what snow blow/throw attachements are available for a LX277. Dealer says only a single stage will work, but I am hesitant about going that route as here in NY our snow can be quite "wet" and with my steep driveway I don't think I can maintain enough forward speed for a single stage to be effective. Ideas anyone ?
Definitely! More is always better and that way you avoid the strain and injuries from remounting attachements. :trink39: But consider the source of this advice...Thanks, great information! Plan B that I am thinking about is a 314 with a 46 hydraulic blower and 39' mowing deck for $900 that I found. This way I could have a dedicated snow blower, and backup lawn tractor.. and a new toy! Think its worth it ?
:Welcome1: and from the sounds of it you'll fit in here just fine:fing32: slkpkThanks, great information! I havn't seen this plan "B" beast in person, but from the pic there are a pair of hydraulics there so I guess that is to raise/lower the impliment, and the auger runs off the front PTO belt. It is a 1983 tractor and 46" single stage snowblower the owner tells me. Looks like wheel weights are in order to make this a worker.Stormwee, welcome to the forum. Not that knowledgeable on the LX series so I'll let the others address that. But your plan B says you found a "hydraulic" blower for the 314? The 314 has a set of hydraulic ports on the front for a hydraulic lift snowblower. But it is run from the front PTO by belt, you can mount the 47 inch 2 stage JD blower to it though (make sure you get the right one that mounts to the 300 series). It should do a pretty good job but you will need some real weight on the back of the 314 to offset it!
News to me too, thought the 300 series could only run the #49 single stage.Stormwee, welcome to the forum. Not that knowledgeable on the LX series so I'll let the others address that.
