jwor, You make 101% sense. Therefore on My authority :smilie_fl I have decided to bestow upon You "PUSH LAWN MOWER FORUM HONDA EXPERT"

Anyway..... I guess buying a mower from the honda dealer made the most sense logistically as there are no authorized Toro, Lawnboy, snapper, dealers within a reasonable distance to my Mothers home. The honda dealer is within 10 blocks.
so when service is required, and I am not available she has a place to go.(Honda ope is sold at the honda auto dealership in her town.)

Thank's and congrat's on Your new promotion!
Once again, I am humbled. :thanku: I have been bestowed a title of which I am not worthy.

I would definately agree that location is 90% of the importance for you and Mom.

I personally owned one of the HRT 216 self propelled with the GCV160 motor. In fact I donated it to a church/pastor. He still has it. Only problem to date is bad gas. Not the pastor mind you, I mean the fuel in the gas tank. ROF

Speaking of "bad gas' ROF I gave My brother a lecture :tsk: about using old gas,I asked him how old the gas was in the 5 gallon can he was using and he said 3 months old :fing20: probably 6 imo! anyway i said get a smaller 1 or two gallon container so the fuel is used up sooner. I told him bad gas is a major problem for mowers. (and brothers ROF ) :trink40:

Actually you might do better keeping the 5 gallon can and filling it when you find 'cheap' gas (what an oxymoron!) and just add 'STABIL' to it to keep it fresh. Saves gas running back and forth to get more gas.

Good point, splicer! Forgot about good old stabil additive. $1 worth of gas used to mow alot of lawns no more!
Brings a question to mind. Will a $1 worth of gas even start a mower? :fing20: . Used to be a $1 would buy a coke at McDonalds and put 50 cents worth of gas in your car and last till you got home. Now :eck16:

Will $1 worth of gas even start a mower? Probably not!

When I was a kid, my parents had a '69 Chevy Impala with a 25 gallon gas tank. I can remember when $3 worth of gas would fill that tank up! Nowadays, it would barely be enough for one gallon.

Tar,

You make a valid point. When I was just a wee lad, I remember gas being 15.9 during what was called "Gas Wars". There is a nostalgic comment. You will not hear that term ever again. :banghead3
