Al, you left out one variable, Tim's snow dancing shoes. The 814/plow will be doing the honors. 3-5 inches doesn't really call for a blower. Plus the snow may change to rain before it ends so that could mean some slop. The DB will be tucked away in the garage.

Check your receipt, packing slip, and the tags inside those shoes. Apparently, you got the MA model, not the PA you should have ordered...

I use the blower for 3" all the time. I get through the driveways quickly but then it takes 15 minutes to clean off the tractor and blower. I'm a bit concerned about the slop as well. It will be fine as long as there isn't too much of it.

Man this so typical. I had 4 kids now age from 33 down to 18 and the schools did that back then. I get up the next day and there's a dusting on the ground so many times.
What's wrong with the old way? You had to get up anyway and watch the news to figure out if you had to go to school, wait 2 hours, or got to stay home.

Well, part of it is on me. Make that all of it. I didn't finish the rear panel, so I haven't mounted the bottom and rear panels on the DB yet.

Dave, we'll allow you to start it up to make sure everything works after it's finished, but no snow work. That nice machine belongs in a museum.

I did some searching for our annual snowfall. I found some discrepancies but it's between 8" and 10". I have measured every snowfall we had so far this winter and I'm up to 28". If yesterday's snow would have stuck, we would be at least 30". Pretty good year for us. We have been running below average temps all winter also.

We got 3-4 "visible" inches. At some point, it warmed up enough that the stuff coming down, although white, was wet and heavy enough just to keep compressing everything.

The boys did the cleanup, and played in it for over an hour, eventually came in completely soaked.

Warmed up to 46° this afternoon with sunny breaks. Had a band of sleet go thru to give a nice crunchy top coating. Looks like about half of it melted away so far. Back down to 26°F tonight.
