Just wondering, what's the "HOLY GRAIL" of vintage Sears tractor collectors???The model that people most want and is in demand more than others.
That would be awsome!!! Who made those for sears?Could you make a thread and post some pictures?
I think Roper did. If I am not mistaken. If I am wrong then a more knowledgeable person will chime in.That would be awsome!!! Who made those for sears?
yes Roper bought David Bradley and used the square fenders in 66well the last year of square fenders was 66, but i think the 1965 725 david bradley ones had square fenders
I also think that the FF's were made by RoperI think Roper did. If I am not mistaken. If I am wrong then a more knowledgeable person will chime in.
yea it is a little tough to think of the FF as vintage. but really, theyre only 2 years younger than the gt 19.9The FF is the biggest badest Sears ever sold but I never really thought of it as "Vintage". I didn't think that 1981 was that long ago but I guess it has been almost 30 years. Where the **** the time go...:biglaugh:

I had a ss 16 Onan engine, I bought it new I think mid 1970, Every one praised it With that oooh aaah; That is the holy Grail; You really don't want my true opion;I willonly say the jerk that designed the mower engagement Should have done it while he was sober; The mower had less then 50 hours on it allways stored inside; Like new condition. Now for the rest of the story.Everyone said it was worth $1200. to $1650, it was new condition. Well I sold it Tryed Ebay C/L. My neighbor gave me $500.00 cash. I was happy He was happy. @ weeks later it started leaking gas some crappy plastic under the seat. Try to find one.. Good luck he found one Used 3 weeks later it started leaking.I welded the plastic togather. then the fiber carberater Float got saturated and would not shout off the fuel; I could go 3 more pages. But true Craftsman/sears owners would only get upset; This is my Experiance with sears. Others may have had good/pleasure owning them. That is good;; You may ask would I buy another ??
By the sounds of things you still might be. I'm not cutting you down just stating a fact.I was stupid once to.
I just checked this thread, and saw this.....that ss/16 is just a RT16 like I had, but a different color, and name. It's hard to say but this is what I have seen from hanging out on the Vintage Sears site over the years. Those 2 Hugh stated are rare brids but the Blue 68 SS12's seem to be the most wanted. The cig lighter, wood gain and hub caps made them a classic.
This SS/16 would be top of the list as there was only one like it.

The next down would be the st tractors IMO. The ST/16 has many fans.
