Checked the pressure today since I was there.

Now I need a plow, I have a frame extension on the way.
I’m not sure how to remove the loader. I keep watching videos, someone had capture the process. “Living out here” guy shows his 430 loader frame installation but not the loader.

That pressure is pretty decent. I wonder what the spec was supposed to be with the dedicated pump?

Yeah, the older generation FELs did not put as much engineering into quick on/off features as newer models like your 45 FEL on the X7. I guess they figured you’d mount it and leave it.

Looks like some bolts and tools will be involved on the 44, plus the pump removal. Where is the fuid reservoir - - in the stanchion?

Yes it’s right under the levers. The loader is nearly as heavy as the 45 so I don’t want a 500lb accident. I’m not sure how to measure the dedicated pump pressure but it seems powerful.

I shoveled that into the bucket and it lifted it with ease, has nice curl power too.

I hear you Lou about an accident. These FELs are awesome tools, but they are heavy and deserve respect.

There has got to be a 44 FEL manual around somewhere on-line. The manual should have mount/dismount instructions. I know I referred to the 45 FEL manual instructions when I first mounted it, and likely will again until I get it all down pat.

I see the reservoir now - - interesting how they built a separate tank and mounted it right alongside the left stanchion. Many older FEL designs with dedicated pumps used the stanchion itself as the reservoir.

Now that you mention it, I don’t know how to check pressure on the loader system either. 🤷‍♂️ But I wouldn’t worry about it - - it’s certainly got plenty!!

That’s a novel idea, words on paper with pictures! Seems as though if it’s not on YouTube I’m lost. I went to a Hardware store and told the guy I was watching videos on my toilet issues. He said ‘’we’re not watching videos we are working on a toilet!’’

Operator manual isn't hard to find:

Thanks Tim, Tractor Time with Tim made a TY video of all things showing two sites to use one for part numbers one to order parts. I was having trouble finding info on the 44 loader. Some of us are better at this than others. I’ll see if I can get to the site you showed. Baby steps

This is the download symbol, just click on it when you get there. Watch your screen carefully there should be two windows pop up, one saying download requested and then one (maybe in your browser) saying download is successful. You can go to your download folder on the PC or the Browser download tab (might be in options/settings) to retrieve it.

To measure the pressure you should be able to disconnect a line from the spool valve; connect your pressure gauge there and then run the lever in the correct direction. Make sure you relieve pressure from the lines before you start as hydraulic oil under the skin is bad news.

That's a really nice unit - definitely has not seen tons and tons of use.

That loader appears to be quick-ish :D disconnect. I'm sure the manual has directions!

In the picture of the sight glass. Is that hydro fluid on the transaxle maybe leaking from a bolt? Or is that water that dripped down from above?
Good eye! I woke up to this, yikes.

Maybe that’s why P O only had 1 1/2 galons on board. I’ll pull the fender and have a look.

New diesel cap came already.

Well these lasted 30 years I’m guessing.

They did their job.

The next owner can change these in 30 years.

Thought I’d take another look at the 44 loader pump drive shaft. It seemed to have a little play on purchase day.

I guess after 30 years there is some wear.

I don’t think it’s repairable or still made by Deere.
I looked and it seemed like a guy used to make a replacement but no longer.

Fits in the shed when the X748 isn’t there.

Lou, don't think that is the stock hour meter on that machine. Doesn't fit there correctly.

Congrats on the purchase! Definitely looks like a nice machine..

Only bad thing is since you've gone from a 4wd loader first to then owning a 2wd loader, you get to suffer disappointment instead of elation when you experience the difference. You didn't say whether you had to use the 4wd one to drag this one out of your backyard.. 😇

But in its own right it is a sweet machine and should be appreciated in all its glory!! 👍

Thank you, I told myself only 4X4’s after the X748, then I became star struck with 430 and talked myself right into it. I’ll try HDAP’s ( loaded)
Starter weights and minimum 6 suitcase weights.

If that doesn’t work I’ll go to AG’s and some 70lb suitcase weights.

i had to back down the hill and drive through the neighbors yard.

If its not the grommets, I found this on another forum

"on the newer 430 tanks the most common cause of leak is the low fuel sensor around the wire coming out of the sensor and the only way I have found to fix that is to buy a new low fuel sensor. I have tried 2 different types of RTV but eventually they start leaking again."

Ouch, that’s a $186.13 fitting. I’ll start with the grommet then buy it.
