Took advantage of the warm weather to get ready for the cold weather.

I serviced the blower, hitting all the grease points, lubing the chain, chaining the gear box oil oil, flipping the wear edge, and finally mounting it to the tractor. I also got my LED lights mounted better. I cut some pieces of an old metal shelf upright and use some 1/4" bolts to sandwich the rops with a piece of non-slip padding in between.

I've been using these Aux Beam lights, seem to work great, and are pretty inexpensive. I have two pointed forward and two back. I might upgrade the forward looking lights from the 4" to the 7" version for a little more light. Or perhaps add a third forward pointing lights in the middle.

To top it off, I installed a new LED flood light on top of the shed, and also installed a new wall plug in series with the light, specifically for the block heater. I have a wireless controller for outside shed light, so now, when I turn on the lights, I'll also turn on the block heater. I have a wireless plug controller, but if its just running the block heater, I have no way of knowing whether or not it actually came on when I hit the button, now, I'll see the lights!

Let is snow, Let is snow, Let is snow!

Nice looking tractor
Where did you pick up the wireless socket and controller?
I bought a remote, a switch, and an outlet made by Skylink. I bought them on Amazon and have used them for the last 2 winters. not terrible expensive, easy to use. I had been using the outlet for the block heater. But it has no positive indication that it actually turned on when I hit the button, and on occasion, it actually didn't turn on with the first press of the remote.

Now that it's in series with the shed lights, I'll know for sure...as long as I don't forget to plug in the block heater when I put the tractor way!

Those lights look great. I wouldn't mind doing something like that. Did you just wire them off the other lights? How did you mount them? I really don't want to drill into anything. Maybe take a close up shot or two?

On a side note, I finally have a block heater that doesn't leak. I think the problem was the o-ring that came with the heater. It was either stretched or a size or so too big and it wouldn't seat in there too well. Put the new one on, applied some sealer and let it set for a day or so before I filled it up. Worked like a charm. I won't put the blade on until we actually start to get some snow though. Can't wait to plow some snow with this one.

I ran a new wire from the battery with an inline fuse. The only real concern is that you have to make sure they are off before you walk away, or it will drain the battery. Using the existing line or using a relay that is connected to the key switch would be "better", but it work just fine this way. I'll try and grab a couple pics next time I am out at the shed.
