Hi i have a 5 foot ford rotary mower not sure what model it is but it has a slip clutch. I was wondering if there is anyway to add a shear pin to this set up in case that the slip clutch doesnt slip.

No way if the slip clutch is on a splines on the shaft, the best thing you can do is be sure the clutch is not rusted up and will slip when needed. That is why I keep mine covered from the elements when not in use. The best way to be sure it will slip when you want is to loosen the springs and deliberately slip the clutch then re-set the the spring tension.

I saw/have a chart someplace that gives info on this if I can find it. Google should be able to find it on the web.

Sorry i haven't responded. Theres one problem i don't have any springs to tension on my slip clutch heres a picture. Also i would love to know what model it is. I appreciate that chart that's handy. How would i adjust this one?

You adjust this one by tightening or loosening the large nut on the gear box side. There would be a certain torque specification given for adjusting this clutch to a specific horsepower rating, unfortunately I do not have that information, so to set this one it will be by trial an error.

Just remember not to over tighten as you DO want the clutch to slip if you hit something solid. A little slippage is way better than none at all.
