Well, just got off a 30 minute call to MTD.... and they are shipping me all the new braces and everything for my '09 hood. The first girl I talked to didn't have a clue, apparently they haven't updated their exploded diagrams, all she showed was the '09. Then she transferred me to tech support.

I explained my situation to the guy at tech support, informed him my hood has already been replaced once, and I've saw what's been done on the new hoods. I stated there is a tech advisory and is sending out a "kit" which contains everything I should need. Should be here in about a week.

Ya, I was just in the mood of thinking, "you never know unless you ask...". I was pleasantly surprised considering the 1st girl didn't really know, she offered to transfer me to someone who would. The 2nd guy (tech) didn't give me any hassle, say I had to bring it in, anything... just told him I really like my tractor, but I don't care for the hood... That did get a laugh from him.

So I'd suggest to everyone else with a 2500 to give MTD a call. The guy acted like since it was an advisory it applies to past and present models. Sorda like those service bulletins for your vehicles, not quite a recall, but if you mention it they will take care of you.

There is an option for tech support, but I didn't do it first, I talked to the service dept. Anyways, if you sound like poor puppy "I really like this tractor, but the hood.... and it breaks.... and I've had it to the dealer 15 times....."

I called CC today... this thing was supposed to have been delivered last Thur. The guy couldn't give me a tracking number, but said it has been shipped.... queue Tom Petty "The Waiting".......

I don't think this is what I thought I was going to get.... but I'll take it....




 
But does it include the new bracing? Not that I'd be complaining of course...

nope, no new bracing.... this is the service kit for the '06 models with the heat issue. I guess if anyone wants to call, you can make out the kit # in the last pic. I emailed CC explaining I didn't get what I thought I was going to get.... who knows. At least I've got a spare in case it does brake again...

I just browsed around on ebay and saw a hood only going for $250...

I'm still at the wait and see... according to my support page on CC's site it shows something else has shipped. I'd hate to call my dealer on this one, but if it comes to that...
