Here are a few pictures of what I have been working on for the past month or so.

I changed the engine oil, trans/hydro fluid, plugs, wires, dis cap and rotor button, fan belt, radiator hoses, exhaust, intake/exhaust mainfold, steering wheel, seat, and I added lots of paint.

Here are a few pics of the progress.

Then I used Valspar restoration series in the rattle cans...and I used lots of them. Ford Grey, and Ford Red. I still want to paint the front hubs red, I just could not get a good mask on it and I really needed the tractor back to work. I still use this tractor year round so the paint job is not show quality but I wanted it looking the best it could with some rattle cans. Feel free to post questions or comments.

You got that finish from a rattle can! Cool!

How did you prep the metal? That's probably the most significant issue in getting the finish to last, I would guess....

yeah, I pressure washed the tractor, I used a degresser then just painted on the cleaned surface. I used a lot of masking tape for the fine work. The tractor body has ~4 coats of paint. The fenders have at least 6 coats, and the hood has probably about 4-6 coats too. The wheels have about 4 coats on them.

forget a hub mask, just pull the rims off then paint :)

Good call. That would probaly take much less time that making a cardboard cut out that would incoporate the bolt circle, and the proper size circle for the hub. I'll get around to it one of these days. At this point I am all out of Ford Red. I'll pick up another can next time I hit up TSC.

Sharp! Nothing wrong with that at all...
