I got this 50” deck from Brandon a while back. Thought it was a regular 44” but after some measurements I confirmed it was a 50” and it will fit either Hulk II or BOH. The thought is to fix this (not restore) to be used to mow with either Hulk or BOH, leaving their decks restored. I have a set of good mandrills for this. Got it tore down except for two recessed bolts that I’ll have to cut of from the bottom. It has some rust through areas on the back, JB Weld will fix this. Couple dents on the front, and the Shute area looks bent in some but not sure. I’ll pick up some flat stock to make new runners, Not sure I can make the Shute side, but I have a 44” one that I can use as a template, it is too small and doesn’t fit (may be the way the deck is bent in). Blades are not bent, but will need work. No belt cover, so I will need to brace the idler pulley bracket. Overall this should fix up fine for use.

I need the Craftsman Tractor model # that uses the 50” deck to see what belts are needed and if there are any parts still available.

Not sure yet but I think the Sears FF/24 used this deck, The deck model I found was 917.253660 but nothing is coming up in a search.

The angled discharge looks correct when compared to this picture. Any idea the model number of this?

Hi Larry
Almost sure you have a ff model deck, I have made a partial belt cover about 16-18" wide from flat metal turned down on back, also tried a flat strap to support the idler, liked the piece of cover better than the strap brace.
Good luck

I could mail you the COMPLETE manual that I have. Or I could copy the whole thing for you.

Since I have a need to keep it.

I gave away the engine converted it to a Vertical Shaft Kohler Command CV25S. That was fun to convert... NOT

Let me know, as I have no way of giving you my email address so we could privately chat.

Taking the shell to a welder tomorrow. Started to see if I could salvage the blades. A lot of work, but one is done. Blade part number is 121798X for those following along at home.

Sorry Larry I did not see this, think my snow blower machine is that one you needed? The deck was dead when we got it.

Deck is at the welder, and I ordered a sleeve to 2" receiver adapter so I can use the carrier on BOH for the Tractor show.

I don't think these blades have ever been sharpened. I have a good edge on all of them now and a basic balance. Still need to wire brush two of them and paint. Deck is still at the welder.

Sleeve hitch adapter came in. would have been nice if they would have included the pin. I'll stop at T/S tomorrow to see if I can find something that will work.

Coming along Larry! Shame they leave out the most important part! I might try to find a Sleeve hitch for one of mine so I could tow trailer out with it.

TSC had the perfect pin (I got 2). Butt Buggy is almost ready. I plan on removing the deck on him to make it easier to ride around there.

Hey larrybl,

Do know of anyone that has "tried" to mulch with these 44" & 50" LOW-PROFILE decks?

Since I now have a deck (that cuts much cleaner than my 2009 Rider) I plan on using my 917.255950 for all my lawn & tractor needs!

As for the 3-bin bagger, the mount bracket has been installed to allow me to use the Sleeve Hitch, but I am hesitant on modifying the bagger tube to mate up with the discharge...

Any recommendations/referance is GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THANKS AGAIN!
