4 years to the day to resurrect this thread! Nice job!
OK, so now we know that I don't pay attention to blade dullness or thread age.

Worse things have happened, lol...

By chance, are any of you gamers? I happened to spend many, many years playing 'EverQuest' - this while still on the road driving truck for a living before becoming disabled/retired/life changing, etc... and so on - anyhow... my 'toon' happened to be the highest level Necro on Terris-Thule - hehe, but I digress...I do feel that *zombie* threads are fair game to be re-opened unless closed by a MOD or the OP. I read this entire thread, liked it, and happened to have a pet peeve, (I miss the nice shade of red paint the Gator blades used to be) and felt it was worth adding it :)

Never did see them in red. Regardless, the paint pretty well wears off of my blades right quick and then they get all greened up in grass juice. I see paint as a vain frivolity. Would be happy if they didn't paint them and knocked a dollar off the price.

My guess would be that they're painted to keep them from rusting before they're sold.

In case you couldn't tell by my (feeble) attempt at humor, the last thing I care about is upsetting anyone by adding to an old thread. I honestly never look at the post dates if the topic is interesting, unless I want to PM someone.

Besides, some would say it's better to have one thread with multiple points of view, regardless of age. Let's face it, lots of us are running older machines, and info about such common stuff like blades will never age.

Now, necro-whatever you said brings up hilarious memories from Robert Schimmel's old standup routine. RIP, Bob...

So... I went (local) shopping for Gators yesterday. Nobody wants to stock them, they all want to special order them. Last time I fell for that, the dealer charged me shipping. If I am going to pay shipping, I may as well order them online.

Anyway, the Husqvarna dealer in a neighboring town had "Husqvarna Blade 21 inch Gator 521981601" Not sure if they are OEM'd to Husqvarna but they are the same dimensions as the G3 96-900 I have. The tooth pattern is slightly different from my old G3s. At least they are stamped "Grass Side" so had no problem figuring it out.
