For the last week or so I had been talking to this guy who had a 112 up for sale, rather cheap considering what they usually go for out here in the Midwest & I went to check it out & seemed to be in good shape, it's missing a thing or two but isn't hard to find.

So after looking at the 112, I had noticed a 212 on his property just sitting out in the yard, asked him about it & he said he didn't wanna fix it anymore.
He just gave it to me! Loaded them up & on our way home we go.

Got home & checked them out, with the 212 I found a fan blade sitting on top of the deck, then 2 blocks of wood in the battery compartment & a empty quart bottle of Quaker State helping secure the battery!!

112 is almost complete, missing shield on the right, deck covers & is missing the front grill/headlight bezel.
Not sure of its exact state, but I'm going to play around with it, electrical in it was definitely chopped. I did find a couple wasps nests in it while looking it over, definitely wasn't fun.

Both shift tight, seems like they weren't used a lot, but cosmetically they were abused. Both have compression, can't say how much till I get a gauge on them.

They'll be running soon, I'll keep you guys updated, BigMitch

Thanks guys!! Yes the 112 has hydraulic lift. Had to clean the 212 carb & that fired right up, didn't have to do anything to the 112.

I'll grab video of the 212 running tomorrow :p

Update time, decks look OK, but not great. Here's the 112, I'll grab a pic of the 212 deck later...

Here's the 212 running

Also for some reason the 212 now won't shift into 1,2,3 or reverse, but will go into 4th gear. Ideas?

Great Find! congrats!

Thanks Burned300!

These otta keep you busy and out-of trouble for awhile. LOL!:)

They sure will MT! Haha

Update-

Found a broken gear inside, just one! Insane considering how much doesn't work inside.
All other gears & bearings seem to be in good shape. The gear just shattered, don't even know where it goes...

Well I found a solution for the 212, after looking awhile on Craigslist & eBay, I found a 100 series transaxle & everything turned out to be exact!

After 240 miles round trip, looked it over, made sure everything worked, this is what it looks like.

Had to transfer my shifter handle over, & brake but was definitely worth it!
Now to fix up the 212's deck & it should be a running/mowing machine.

The other axle, I'll eventually get around to fixing it or just using it as a parts axle...

Update on the 212 and 112, finished up the 212 & sold it.

In the process of getting things sorted out on the 112, cleaned carb, took the hood & supports off to get a better look at things, I might have a leaking hydraulic pump, some reason when running the deck will sometimes drop & smoke will come out from under the pump. Hmm

Update on the 112, engine is out & being disassembled. Started smoking months back.
Haven't taken pan off but from taking the covers off & the head off, carbon build up & lots of insulation, probably mice.

Boy it is dirty, just full of dirt, old grass & oil.

Something I've never seen before, look down around the piston...

Update-

Not much as been done to the 112 aside from the engine being done & few other things, pictures coming for that yet, just have to dig em up to post.

Just recently picked up another 112 SF, only difference is it's electric lift, but still quite a few parts will go on, from what serial says 1974. I also got a Mower deck & snow blower with the deal, both seem sound & tight which I'll use.

Already have thrown the hood, PTO cover & grill on, looks way better!
