Finally got some new brushes for the alternator and reassembled it. Now I'm waiting for a break in the rain so I can get it installed and see if it works.
ZAU not charging
The charging system quit working on our 1950 Minneapolis Moline ZAU. We put a ford alternator on it years ago when we restored it. The amp gauge wasn't showing a charge so I got the voltmeter out and found nothing. So I pulled the alternator and disassembled it. The brushes are pretty short and the armature looked like it needed a good cleanup on the brush rings. I replaced one bearing and need to get some new brushes.

Success !!! Installed the alternator and it is now charging again.
