My local John Deere dealer is backed up for 3 weeks on repairs and I am hoping someone here can help me with how to fix my mower as we are in full speed grass growth with a few acres of lawn to maintain...

I have a large field that got a little behind on mowing. When the mower starts to bog down even a little bit it pops the 7.5A PTO fuse killing the mower.

Any ideas on what I could replace/fix to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance

Solved!!!

As I often do when I don't know what to do next, I started doing all of the maintenance that I could do and inspecting the mower. I sharpened blades, lubed the deck, cleaned everything. Then I looked under the positive terminal cover. It had a fair bit of corrosion. I was cleaning it up when I noticed that the battery was over 6 years old. I pulled it out and put it on a battery tester. Yea, it is done. Purchased a new battery.

All good now. Which does make sense with hindsight being what it is... Voltage goes down, current goes up and blows the fuse.

:ditto: on the solving. I was gonna suggest put in a 15amp fuse and look for the smoke!:tango_face_devil: Your solution to the problem was much better.:thThumbsU
