I have a z445 with a Kawasaki FH721V twin engine. I believe one of the cylinders is not working. When I pull the plug wire off the back cylinder, the engine shuts down and will not start unless I plug that wire back on. When I do the same to the other cylinder, it has no impact, the engine keeps running fine as long as that back cylinder wire is attached to the plug.

I replaced the ignition coil today to see if that would fix it, but no luck. also has new plugs now, new filters, etc.

Any ideas?

I would run a compression test of both cylinders and compare results. If they come back good, I would put an inline spark tester to see if you are getting spark to it.

Agreed:fing32:. If no compression then check the valves.

Remove valve cover and check push rods. Pretty common failure, bent push rods due to sticking valves. Also check valve guides to make sure they are not pulled out of place in head.
