Have an `05 Z-force ZTR. Time for hydro service, I have an abundance of Shell Rotella 15w-40 ( for my Ingersoll) Can I use it for my Cub hydro ?do I need to spend $12 a qt over at the Cubby dealer ?

Any other tips welcome !

Thanks !

I know my 2010 Z-Force specs Rimula 15w40 for the transaxles (and engine for that matter), so Rotella 15w40 would be just fine. I *believe* Rimula is the European version of Rotella. If you're in a HOT climate or do some heavy-duty mowing, I'd be more inclined to put a synthetic 20w50 in the transaxles if they are integrated Hydrogear units like mine.

Hydro Gear recommends 20w50 if it is a 2200 0r 2400 transaxle. I always put synthetic in and buy it from my local Napa store for 2.99 per quart

Thanks JMoe, still happy with your purchase ?
Sure am! There's times when I miss my 2544, but the ZF is serving me very well.
