A few miles west of the Twin Cities we got another crappy snowfall of one inch of almost liquid water snow. The temperature was 30-31 when it was coming down and the flakes were as big as quarters. Up near my garage doors that face southwest the snow turned to slush from heat accumulated during the day (it was 41F earlier today). It clogged the model 44 blower repeatedly so the rear blade got a workout. Away from the slushy area the blower worked well.
Since it is supposed to be butt numbing cold (11F) with 45 mph winds tomorrow morning I did my neighbor's driveway too. His driveway faces northeast and is shaded by his house during the afternoon. The blower didn't clog once on his driveway.
I would prefer that we get a normal six to twelve inch dry snowfall so the 44 can get its first real workout. If I lived someplace where the snow was always wet I'd park the blower and use a front blade. Looking over my shoulder for the rear blade all the time is a PitA.
