So I have a ys4500. It runs great and works great. All I need to know is what numbers to look at to find out what year it is, and to be able to get parts for it when the time comes as well as to where the numbers should be located on the tractor

The model number is usually located under the seat. It will have a format similar to this: 917.xxxxxx. Use that number to find parts.

You can get a date from the tractor serial#.
Engine date code will get you close if original.
Often the OM has a date printed which will get you in the ball park.

Thanks guys. I got the tractor from my father in law and he found the manual for it when cleaning his garage out. I'm good to go now.
