I am having problems getting the pto seal to stop leaking. What is the order everything goes in. Does the seal sit on a collar? Hoye told me that a washer went behind the collar that held the seal in place. Then there is a lock ring that holds the washer on. But there is no way thats gonna work on mine. If anyone can tell me what order everything goes in or maybe some pictures that would be great. This has been a great little tractor for me. I have had it for about 9 years. It also was my first tractor. Bush hog and plant alot of food plots. The plate that comes off to get to the seal looks like it holds a rubber gasket but there was not one when i took it off. Just some red rubber gasket maker. Hoping nothing has slide backing making everything different than it suppose to be. Sorry my first post is so long. :dunno:

Thanks Tim

Hi, Tim and welcome to our little Yanmar section of MTF

The YM2200 (and 1900) is a very rare breed that Yanmar put out on a single manufacture run. I believe it was a one year only before they made changes to their line up on the following years. This is not to say they were a bad model or lacked anything compared to what others they offered. The fact that you've had yours for nine years is quite a testament. Simple truth....there just aren't many that made it to the U.S. which make some parts scarce. A few years back I couldn't find a head gasket for a fellow who had the 2200... but now they're available from several sources.

Good luck with your search and, like Winston suggests, a few pictures might be helpful to aid you with a right fix :fing32:

I have it back together right now waiting till morning to see if I have it right with no leaks. But I have some pics on my phone ill load to here. Thanks for the help.
The first pic shows the collar i was talking about. The second one shows the seal lock ring and collar. The third one shows the seal slide on top of collar up against the bearing with lock ring in place. The fourth shows the plate or cover that goes on. I think I just had to on wrong meaning the plate. Looks like the plate holds everything tight. Maybe thats where i was told i needed a washer. See all the groves in the plate. It forms a lock went putin place. This morning I have no leaks so fare. I think Im gonna do some trading. For something that has more parts that I can get. Thanks for the responses and help.

I am probably not seeing things correctly but if that is the oil seal in picture #2 shown slid back on the spline then it should be installed inside the cover shown in picture #4 and then the cover would be installed.

Winston as fare as I know your right. It was up on the collar and not inside the cover when i pulled it off. It is a very tight fit when trying to put it in the cover. Have to be careful or it will crease the sides of the seal. I guess i'm calling the spline a collar. But maybe this will help someone having the same problems. Thanks everyone for the help.
