It's 3-1/2 hours drive between them; I wonder if the laid-off people in Moline could commute to Horicon?

Based on the stack of invoices I have from my dealer here (from just this year) I spend plenty......... :ROF

Deere has been forecasting this slow down for a while... particularly in the ag sector.

Real easy to explain to the wife.
The tractor needed a new battery.
They wanted cash for the battery.

Come look at the shiny new tractor honey.
Please just sit on it and let me take your picture.
It really brings out the green in your eyes.

Then we will post it on facebook!
and on MTF!
They will be green with envy.
You sure are pretty Peggy.

Besides, it is helping the economy..

The battery (and the tractor) did not cost me anything today and I got ZERO interest!

Saved $300.00 and got a little green trailer..
Oh, and I bought you a potted plant..

Honey,
Honey,

Where are you going honey..
Are you going to get the camera?

I could never justify spending what it would take to buy one new equivalent to my 420.

I can't afford to support two industries. My $ have been going to support the arms race, ammo.
$28 box/100 rounds (of cheap target) 9mm goes downrange in 30 min, while quality defensive rounds start at $1/pop.

$ go quickly (900-1000 feet /sec) with this activity.

I did my part this year. Bought a new JD 6110R Ag tractor (110 HP). But it was actually built in Germany. The real reason that farmers are not purchasing equipment is commodity prices. Prices for wheat, corn, and soybeans are now almost lower than the cost of production. Two years ago wheat was about $8.50 bushel and now only about $4.00. Same for corn & soybeans. Until farmers can make a profit, they won't be buying new equipment. But twenty year old low hour used tractors are going for high prices on auctions, which might be partly due to the fact that they don't have computers. Al

Rob, Yes I got it from Eis Implement. Traded in my 2 year old JD 6105R with 150 hours mainly because JD had a $7,000 rebate on the new 6R series. All my JD equipment has come from Eis. I like to buy local. Al

I know what you are saying, I'm a shooter too. Prices have been high since late 2012. Rimfire took quite a hit.

I wish they'd lay off people on the D series line, then hire them in the X line, that way there'd be more used ones out there for us lol
