Newbie checking in and saying hello. Been looking for a long time for a little Kubota that had been well maintained, and I think I finally found one. Regardless, it's in my garage now!!! Yaaaaayyy!!!

Just brought this home today and am going to start going thru it. Bought it from the original ower, a GM machinist, guy seemed to keep up on the maint and what not very well, have all the manuals for it, 600 hours on this little beast.

Need to find a good source for parts such as mower blades (has a 40 inch 3 blade deck for it), etc. Really runs nice and the original owner seemed like a really cool cat.

Your local dealer should have all that. Probably a good idea to get to know them.

Another source that mail-orders Kubota parts is Messicks. I believe they are an MTF site supporter, too.

That's a good idea, but my nearest dealer is a bit of a drive.

Oh, what would you suggest for a "block heater" on this engine? I am looking at a Kat's heating pad that you stick on the oil pan. Don't need much heat, since the tractor will always sit inside, but I was looking at a 50 watt or so pad to stick to the oil pan.....just enough to get the temp up a bit on it.

Very nice! I love my little 3 cylinder diesel. Just keeps going. Be sure to get red dye diesel fuel for it, like farmers and off roaders do. Here it is 45 cents a gallon cheaper than the road taxed version. Of course California has high fuel taxes. You may not save as much there.

That is one nice lookin bota, Ive got a 4200, kinda rough around the edges, But some day hope to make it real pretty like yours, Did you know thats a case/ingersoll snow caster. Yes sir. So you can get parts at your Ingersoll dealer for that end. There are a couple good Ingersoll dealers here between detroit and lansing. The one in williamston is also a kubota dealer. Enjoy your new tractor, The kubota diesels are the finest diesel engines in the world... Eric

The previous owner of the tractor said something similiar about the blower, that it wasn't actually made my Kubota, but he wasn't sure who made it....your info is good info to know, thanks.

Nice diesel. Is the tow unit also a diesel?

Yes, the Jetta is diesel as well. Has almost 260,000 miles on it now and still runs like a champ. Had the dealer do the timing belt service about 10,000 miles ago on it. Been very happy with the little VW.

Yup, Your missing a little flip up door there. If memmory serves me correctly Its perforated. Check with joes power equip, I think he advertises here, hes near sagnaw... Eric...

I suppose it doesn't have an awful lot on how the machine runs (haha), but I just want it to look pretty.

I do need to beef up the seat, since it is cracked. Anybody ever take the seat cushion off and put a couple layers of fiberglass on the inside of the seat, or is there a better way? Thanks.

For such a robust tractor, I'm surprised how flimsy the seat is.

The seat is designed to flex, po must have been a big boy, It needs to be welded, mig or tig. thats not a place where fiberglass will help. If you cant get it done cost effective, Id just try to find a used one, call joe for that, and the door. As nice as that tractor is,..Id try to find a good used one so you can get rid of the damage. I guess I hadn't looked at the seat that close yet, to figure out if it were made out of metal or fiberglass.

You are right.....just try and find another seat and use this one for AK-47 practice.

What color are they suppose to be? Black? Kubota Orange?

Their JD weights, they're supposed to be yellow.

Also, I want to tighten up the steering a big on the tractor, and just by watching what's taking place when I turn the steering wheel, I want to replace the bushings (#12 in the pic) since the gear gizmo with the teeth seems to shift too much. The steering shaft is still good and snug.

What's the best way to get into this area....remove the radiator and go in from the front? Thanks again.
