I used it today for the first time. 3 inches of very wet heavy snow.
The Front Blade
Plowed with 54 blade no problem. The 4x4 and diesel torque is powerful. I have blacktop driveway, the squeegee was effective. Usually floated it also used down pressure to scrape the packed stuff.
The Cab
Visibility is very good. I live on a village street, not much traffic until school and work is out. The 2 - 3 hours I played today I saw 4 cars. The heater did its job, but it was 33F
The Blower
After plowing I tried the 47 Blower. Easy to get on, not perfect JD could make the hose supports bigger. Going from a LX280 and a 4410 JD has really improved the PTO shaft connection. They finally figured out you can not push and pull at the same time.
The nanny police really had me going at first. I blew down the piles of plowed snow, backed up and tried to blow down some more of the pile. After 3 trips back up the driveway to "unclog" the blower I realized that the RIO was turning off the pto every time I backed up. What a PITA. I am impressed with the pushing power of this machine, used the rear locker once and powered out of the snow. No chains, no weight(just me250 and the cab). Now the snow is changing to rain it shouild be gone by saturday.

Great review, you will make an excellent source of answers to questions about which is better for different kinds of Wintery Mix; blade or blower.

Now, I have to add: 2-3 hours and no pictures?

The snow is rolling into huge snowballs. It is wet and heavy. After I used the blower to chop up the snow and blow it around. Those balls may have turned to hard ice. The squegee and down pressure on the blade scraped the hard packed stuff off the driveway. The blade is fun to use but the blower gets the snow far away and spreads it out. Current temp is 39F.:greendr:

Nice! I'm in the process of upgrading from an x300 and pictures like this are starting to sway me towards the 7 series 4x4 models. It's that wet slushy stuff that buggers things up for the one I currently have. I'd bet the 4wd really helped with that issue!

The snow is being pushed across my lawn. I never felt that I had to stop. I could have made it to my neighbors garages.

Looks great Lou! You have a very well rounded setup that should be comfy for many seasons of snow removal.

Are you getting more today?

It is snowing now. I am in the 1 to 3 area, but because of my higher elevation I usually get the high end. Not looking forward to the predicted 40MPH wind.

I hear you. It was a windy drive into the city today and they are saying "Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph..." which will make it an interesting drive later as the snow falls and blows and blows and ...
