X700 Series Family Tree

While looking for some info I came across this part of the Deere site I had not seen before. Might be old news to most but I found it interesting and if you are thinking "I want an X7xx tractor but used is for me" this might help you figure out what the #s mean. It helps me when other models are referenced here.

Thats cool Poeny thanks!:trink40:
I refuse to look at it, I will just get jealous:thanku:
The Only reall diffrence Between say a X720 & a X485 is this the X720 after 2007 can take a 60inch 7Iron deck and the X485 cannot the X720 supposedly has 2more HP. Oh and as of the 2009 or 2010 model year the X700 series Had the Hydraulic lift cylinder relocated to the Left hand side under the Fender deck Before it was in the middle of the tractor under the Fuel Tank. See now in order to have a 3point installed the Hydraulic cylinder has to be moved back to the center under the fuel Tank.:thThumbsU

Kind of funny looking at that list. I've been saying JD should reduce the number of X700 models they offer (currently 12, counting "SE" models). But JD is probably saying "Hey, we already did!" They used to have 14 variants!!
I had never looked closely at the lists, but you're right UT. I thought there were more variations now than before. I see I'm mistaken.
Here is a 1st attempt at consolidating some of this info. I hope this is not a repeat as it would be a waste of a bit of time... This may help a little with Brett's survey and what the #s mean. I intentionally sorted it this way to try and put like models next to each other instead of an alpha model # sort.

I'm sure it needs some editing.:fing32: Let me know, I'll update it and post an updated image and/or a shared spreadsheet with the info.

Bold are current model tractors.
2011 models not included. Some mid-model engine and other updates not included, ... WMMV:thThumbsU

:ditto::ditto: and :thanku: for putting that together. slkpk
Great job, but of course someone has to ask for one more column right?
How about me? and how about a column for the transmission? Would that be easy (sure I'm asking for you to do it so it is plenty easy for me to ask) enough for you to collect and add?

Thanks again, I always like to scan this type analysis.

I think the X585 was a copy/paste error. I should have know as my last look I said "hmm, that is a lot of carb models" but was distracted by the DVR delayed football game...

:thanku:
Well, it looks like Mr. POENY doesn't have enough snow to blow!:hide:

Seriously though, that is awesome.:thanku:
It is definitely bookmark worthy!:fing32:

I think all of these tractors use a version of the Tuff Torq K92. The manuals I have seen don't show this detail though.

Can anyone confirm this (no new column is needed if they are all the same) or point me to an information source?
POENY,

That is an awesome chart you compiled!!!

One note of correction: I'm pretty sure the X575/585/595 were not AWS models.

To the best of my knowledge, AWS with AWD did not arrive until the X729/X749 with the introduction of the new hydraulic AWD system that eventually replaced the mechanical 4WD on other models as well.

I would also suggest referring to the new system as "AWD" to distinguish it from the earlier mechanical part-time 4WD.

That helps a lot. Ever look at anything too long and then see nothing?

More copy/paste stuff but deleting is easy... :thanku:
Here is a quick update based on feedback so far.

What sort order makes the most sense? Of course once the spreadsheet is attached you can sort any way you choose to...

Man thats a nice chart! Great info!:fing32:

Same data with a correction to bolding and with reordered columns to match the sort. To me it hurts my head less to look at it this way.

and sorted my model for those who want to see it that way.

POENY,

You are the man! One wonders why JD doesn't make the info available like this?

Forgive the nitpick, but X729 and X749 came out a couple years later than the other X7s. I think their first model year was 2008 -- maybe somebody can confirm?

Also, I added a note to my previous post, where I suggested calling the X729/749 drive system "AWD" (for full-time All-Wheel-Drive) rather than 4WD, since that was a fairly significant change to the drive system.
That's great! Thanks for taking the time to compile all the info POENY. :fing02:
