Long two weeks ;) Finally arrived today. I ended up getting x590 with mulching kit, 47 inch 2 stage snow blower kit( includes grille cover, weights, terra grip chains ) Tractor had .1 on meter when it arrived( was zero on lot I think the .1 was me riding it around dealer lot 2 weeks ago ;) Immediately took it out mowing the yard to get some "seat" time, wasn't super happy with cut. 1st thing tomorrow I'll check tire pressure and if deck is level. Cut wasn't bad, just wasn't as good as I like, not too worried about it. The Machine does not maneuver as well and as tight as the X300, but i its not really a problem since its so easy to steer with power steering and really like the high back seat, super comfortable. Purposely went over to neighbor's yard and mowed a patch of grass 3 feet high thick grass- mower didn't hesitate or bog down one iota- was actually pretty impressive, Just a couple of quick pics to "prove it happened" tomorrow or next day I'll post pics as I get brush guard and single bucket holder mounted. Put 1.4 hours on it tonight, super happy so far is everything I expected and more

Congratulations Tony on the new X590. Nothing like the new smell of a John Deere. Hope it works out for you and i do mean that. I know that you know this but just take your time and go through it and readjust if needed. Maybe even hit the spindles with a little grease and make sure you check your rear wheel lug-nut periodically for the first 100 hrs. Mine just now took a seat after 100 hrs. Congrats again and look really nice.:fing32:

I got the 48 inch deck- that was hold up in getting my tractor- when I test drove tractor it had 54 inch deck, was concerned getting thru fence into my back yard so had dealer order me a 48 inch deck . Gave the mulching deck a good try out tonight and I have to admit I was fairly impressed ( I've always bagged) Grass was shredded into a million small pieces-- all but area I went thru 3 foot high grass - cant wait to go through tractor thoroughly tomorrow - I'll spend a good chunk of the day getting familiar with tractor, leveling deck , greasing everything, reading owners manual and finally waxing it ( washed it tonight)

Thanks for the input on the mulching kit. I have the 54" and have been bagging, but this year with all the rain and fertilizer I wanted the nutritional benefits to stay in the ground rather than remove it. I would like to get one for next year so I guess I'll wait till winter to find one.

Congrats on the new X590! Level deck and the cut should improve. I know the dealer is supposed to check everything, but I'd check the oil levels and add a shot or two of grease to all the zerks. Other than that, enjoy!

:ditto: On all the fluids/grease and keep an eye on the hydrostat fluid level as it may drop to the "add" mark but that is normal.

Mine did just that. 8.7 hours as of today :trink39:

Tony, you would be happy to know that today I mowed my parents back yard and there was a area where the grass was taller than my tractor, maybe a 20x20 section. It mowed it all down and never bogged the tractor.

Congrats! I got an X300, deck was not level. I ended up returning it because it wasn't enough machine for my property. I told them when I returned it that the deck wasn't level and they seemed "shocked", because they always make sure to level the deck! They assured me that wouldn't happen again. I got an X530 to replace it, guess what, deck wasn't level at all. I doubt they even tried, it wasn't even close.

Sounds like everything's on par as usual.

Coming up on my 8 hour maintenance cycle - so thought I’d give a quick update on X590. So far only thing I can say is “wow” LOL. Glad I went for 590, never had power steering, of course I’ve driven tractors with it, but never “my tractor” Really easy to say I’ll never buy another tractor without it. When I hop on wife’s LA -135 to move it I’m immediately struck by lack of power steering, I was one to always say “yeah power steering is nice, but who needs it LOL” can’t believe how fast I fell in love with that option. I’m trying mulching with 590 so far been happy with it, I don’t think it cuts quite as nice as my x300 did with bagger- but it’s extremely close and of course mulching is much better for lawn so I think the slight and I mean very slight difference is worth it. The 300 and its 16 inch turning was a bit more “nimble” but again with power steering more than makes up for few spots in yard I could maneuver around in one pass that I have to back up and maneuver with 590. Hauled some sand with my 10p cart and again big difference. The 300 would haul it no problem but when I dumped it, had to manually shovel about 30% of load out of cart- couldn’t pull forward with x300 when cart in down/dump position the 300 didn’t have the “balls” to move cart, with 590 I can pull forward no problem with cart still holding 30% of load - tranny doesn’t whine or complain at all. My neighbors love me as I have been doing some cutting for them. I have one neighbor who has big yard and has patch close to his creek that grass is very thick ( it’s always wet there) he has to wait for dry spell to mow that area since if it’s too wet he’d get his Husqvarna stuck or tear up lawn spinning his tires. Grass was extremely plush, thick and long – ( 7 or 8 inches) couldn’t believe how easy 590 cut threw grass, never bogged down at all, engine never changed pitch and went through grass like butter . Those HDAPs tires worked like a charm, never spun a tire, dug up lawn or was in danger of getting stuck. Same neighbor had hill that he didn’t like mowing with his tractor (too steep) 590 hung to hill like Billy goat, again zero issue. Needless to say neighbor was beyond impressed with x590 and its capabilities.

First week or so I kept reaching for choke when starting tractor, another little thing, that I really appreciate, Tractor starts with turn of key no matter where throttle is set. Engine is quiet and purrs like a kitten, can’t emphasize enough how impressed I am with EFI and that Kawi engine. The 590 was really more tractor than I need probably could have gotten away with X360, but really wanted diff lock for snow blowing –plus I kept thinking what you guys always say – buy more one more level tractor than you think you need. Excited about future and all the attachments I can add to 590., I already have 47 inch 2 stage snow blower, so I’m set for winter and before next spring I’ll have my Johnny bucket for spreading the 6 yards of mulch wife gets every year and any other project she has going. Plus I’m building a new shed to house all my john Deere toys..err I mean work implements ..I almost feel guilty having all this fun working ( I mean playing) on my X590 and finally I have to say love the look of 590 with HDAPS, 5 gallon bucket holder and brush guard- I’m extremely biased when it comes to my X590 but I think it’s a very attractive tractor ..LOL
