Hello Folks,
My X585 PTO switch (the pull switch on the right side of the dashboard that engages my mower deck and the one that you have to lift and hold to continue cutting while going in reverse) is worn out. The mower blades will simply turn off on their own. I have to mess with the switch in order to get it going again. So I ordered the part (AM133837) and plan to install it myself. Can anyone provide some advice on how to replace that switch? I guess I have to get at it from behind/under the dash? I don't want to "mess up" my dash, etc so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Open the hood and remove the little screen panel on the right side below the dash area; next, remove the plug on the back of the switch by simply pulling it down/away; after that, squeeze the 4 little plastic tabs together on the back/under side (this will be obvious after you look at the new switch) and wiggle the switch assembly out from the top side. Those little plastic tabs may fight you a bit (and there's not much room to work in there), but it'll eventually come out; usually you can get one side loose, then focus on the other side. Simply push the new switch in from the top side, push the electrical connector on from the bottom side, and you're good to go. :fing32:
