I used my x530 to blow snow for the first time and because of the wind decided to pull the trigger on the new JD enclosure LP36741. I am now also interested in upgrading the lighting. I read through some of the threads and several people had luck with the P796 bulb replacement (35w/60lm vs 27w/30lm), so I ordered some of these bulbs yesterday.

I am also interested in adding some lights to the cab, (not sure how I will attach them yet as the enclosure is a soft sided cab). There is a brace inside near the front where something could be attached but may need a couple of holes in the enclosure fabric. I will figure this out and add whats needed.

I would like to add some 18w LED flood lights, (1.3a) to the top, however I do not know, and could not find the current output of the alternator. Does anyone know the published output of the 2011 x530 alternator? Or should I be interested in the battery output? What does the power bus use, the battery or alternator output?

I know I am now adding much but I would like to know if I am draining anything to the point of hurting the charging system, or what point does the load negatively impact the tractor?

I think you have a 20 amp alternator. It should be fine with almost any number of LEDs. Search the forum as others have added lights to the soft top of a similar enclosure.

Good luck and don't forget the pics of the project and tractor!:trink39::thThumbsU
