Typical of 10-15 year old garden tractors, the seats develop splits. The seat on my JD 425 I just acquired is in that state. I have found a nice suspension seat at the local farm store for $80, but it's black.

Is putting a black seat on a JD a foul or a crime?

For that price for a suspension seat, I would'nt care if it was purple, I'd be installing it tommorow morning and riding in comfort :fing32:.

After all the debate, went to mount the seat and it was too tall. Go figure. The suspension made the seat sit up about 8-9" and the old seat was 3-4". Found another one online, it's even yellow, but at a price tag of $350. Will wait on that one, but probably what I'll end up with eventually.
