hi all , I know many of you have probably seen my posting in the backyard round table about my free craftsmanII gt i got yesterday it has no engine or wiring harness but is much to nice to just part out or scrap only has a few scratches on the hood with some light rust in them and needs a headlight lens rest of it is perfect not a dent bend or scratch anywhere . I was thinking of a rewire repaint and repower . It did have a twin cyl 14horse briggs . I will tell you this wont be happening for probably a few months due to more bills than money right now and work being slow as in on the verge of getting laid off , but if anyone wants to see this when i start it let me know and ill post my progress on here for all to see because this will be my workhorse .Plan on also building a plow for it and using it to pull a cart and possibly adding a pto and 3 point with more attachments but those will be later any how like i said if interested let me know and when i start ill post pics and progress . This will be my first so you guys can grade my work as i go along lol have fun and happy mowing

ok but im not sure on the like minded part but im definately a nut lol like i said it wont be for a while due to money and getting laid off soon if not monday unless i win the lottery or get some good parts and supplies for free niether of which will probably happen but who knows they say the sun even shines on a dogs @ss somedays lol ill let all the good people here know when i do get the stuff to do it though

Ok everyone as an update i just got a call from a guy about 20 mins away that asked if i would be interested in his craftsman riding mower i told him yes and asked how much he said free so it looks like i mighht be getting a start on this pretty soon because i might have just found my donar to get the craftsmanII going . supposed to meet him this sat to pick it up ill let ya know the details as soon as i get it because as of now i dont know if it runs or anything but if it trashed then ill take what i can use off it and part out the rest if its decent then ill fix it and sell it for some cash still up in the air at this point but hey its an update ill keep ya posted and get some pics up here when i get a chance

With the cost of putting it back together I would part it out and add that to the money you would spend getting it running. Then go and find a good used complete one. You will be hours ahead. Time is money. Think of all the mony you could make in the time it takes to restore the tracor. I would rather by and sell my way into a new tracor. I can build anything buy I ask myself why. I can buy and sell anything and make money. Just turn over the profit and buy what you want. Save a lot of time and work. Tractors are cheap.

With that said I know you want to rebuild the tractor. It is missing so much I am not sure it is worth the price even if free.

The only things it missing are the wiring harness and engine everything else is there even the belts fuel lines and filter .Ive wanted one of these for a while and free is a good price for me right now being laid off plus with a parts tractor that im picking up sat that is free also its definetly the right price even if i only get the wiring harness from the parts tractor and part it out still daves me money and puts me a step closer and im not out any money the only money ill be out is when i paint it but that wont be till work picks back up . plus it gives me something to do to get me out of the house and when its done ill have a nice tractor that will probably mow better than what im currently using considering that this one has new spindles blades and belts which that alone was worth the free price .
I can understand your point of veiw on trading up to new tractor because alot of people do like new tractors but i love the older stuff it seems to work out better for me and I do my own repairs on everything i own weather its the house cars motorhome mowers ect. I love the challenge of bringing a 20+ year old mower car ect back to life like new or better than new . Most of my family doesnt understand it either. they want new cars and mowers that have a/c plastic everything and whatever else . as for me im most happy driving down the road in my 79 malibu with a 350 and 4on the floor and no a/c or cruise control or my 75 duster with the slant 6 and no a/c lol . If car and mower companies would build something like the old ones i might buy new again but right now i dont feel the quality and pride is there right now in the new stuff. please dont take it the wrong way as im just expressing my point of veiw and im not trying to offend anyone here so i hope i didnt thanks to all you guys again ,Ryan
