I was wondering If you guys could take a peek at the pics, and tell me if you think this 1050 looks worth fixing.
I'm looking for a tractor for plowing etc. I enjoy rebuilding stuff, but can't afford to dump a lot of money on it right now. The guy says it runs but needs carb rebuilt. I'm sure there is a lot more to do, to get it back to stock.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Much better to find one that is running. If you are just starting out with garden tractors, you never know just how much it will cost to get it running again.

Never look at a Vertical shaft engine when looking for a garden tractor...

Don't go near it. I did notice it had hydraulic lift though... I called the guy and if I am lucky I will end up with that.

If the 10HP Wisonsin is still there then offer him $20.00 and try to get the engine running. Those were good engines.

Thanks to everyone that replied.
The guy never called back.
I found a shop about 1 hour away, that is supposed to have several running garden tractors,I'll check him out as soon as I have some time.
For now, I'm going to read and learn as much as I can, ton's of great info here.

Thanks

It may be a long ways from rebuildable, but as a parts tractor it is a bargain.
If you don't but it, I will probably get it for parts stock.
And I'd drag that B-1 home, too!

Sounds like a good idea Steevo, and you could swing by here on your way to Idaho and drop it off.:thThumbsU

Just sorta to show everyone what a swell guy you are.
