I have a ford 1600 2 cyl deisel and the go ahead from the boss to buy a 3 PT tiller.

The 1600 is rated at 23 HP and the 'suggested' HP for a 60" tiller is 25 and above. I know i'd be pushing it but a 4 ft tiller will center on the rear tires and a 5 ft will till 2 inches outside the tires. I plan on using the middle buster to break up the ground before tilling.

I use a 5 ft shredder without any issues. Anyone else using a 5ft tiller on a 23 HP or lower tractor?

It should work fine. If you find that you're short of horses, till at a shallower depth and make multiple passes to get to the depth desired. Also sprinkle the ground before tilling if it is dry to soften it up.

Thanks, sixbales.

I pull a 5 ft shredder and a 5 ft box blade without any issues with it- Wanted the 5 ft tiller to save time and to use with the 2N occasionally, too.

appreciate the feed back...
