Why I should have supervision at garage sales...

I stopped at a garage sale this morning at 9am. About 12 hours and 4 truck and trailer loads later, Im now the proud owner of:

1) A 1968 Bolens 1050 with mowing deck, Snow Caster blower, and rototiller. Haven't checked it yet, but it looks complete and was told it ran fine 5 years ago when their Father passed. With all manuals.

2) A great running Bolens H14 with 48" deck and another Bolens rototiller larger than the 1050's. With all manuals.

3) An Allis Chalmers "Big Ten" with mowing deck, sickle bar mower, grader back blade, and cultivator. I was told there was some problem with it, but he couldn't remember why his Father parked it.

4) A Roper T6/30 rototiller, sleeve hitch mount, 6hp Tecumseh that was used one time since it was new.

5) A 15.5hp Noma (Murray) they threw in for free. It runs great, the mowing deck is shot.

Everything was garage kept and are pretty clean for the age of them. I've packed them in my garage, haven't taken any pictures yet.

The worst part is I sold a nice Craftsman garden tractor yesterday just because I didn't want to store it this winter. I have 2 leads on different Pennsylvania Panzers I'd like to buy soon...

My girlfriend says I am "grounded" from garage sales. :lalala:

Your GF might be on to something. When I first got into motorcycles years ago, I had 4 in the garage constantly working on them. My GF at the time pointed out that she wasn't getting much saddle time, and wasn't happy about it.
nice haul - cant wait to see pics
did you get garage sales prices on all of them???
My sore back is telling me I moved around a ton of tractors and attachments today. So it works out to be about 20 cents per pound.
Sounds like you made out like a bandit!

Definitely, :wwp:
Nice! cant wait to see the pics of them, especially the Bolens!:bannana:

Congrats on the haul! Esp the AC and implements!!!

But as Dog points out.....you cant let even cool tractors distract you when that special lady complains about lack of "saddle time". Priorities my man!!!!
man that sure sounds like a nice cache of machines you got. Now like others have said its time to let us see them all. Please... :i_praying

H14 pics

The mowing deck is still in the back of the truck along with the sickle bar mower for the AC. My trailer is 4'x8' and I had to take the deck off to get it home.

I've got pictures of everything. It takes a while to resize them. I'll put them up as I get them done.

Stuff still in my truck.

I know these pictures are bad, but I'm done moving stuff tonight.

These are pictures of the mowing deck off the H14 and the AC sickle bar mower, still under the cover of my S-10 truck cap. Along with my traveling tool bucket and tie down ropes.

I'll put the mowing deck back on the H14 tomorrow. I tried it out today at the garage sale, it worked well.

Quite a haul you made there! Great finds and lots of luck with your new purchases. By the way, I'm jealous.
Wow!

That's why I haven't been looking at Craigs list lately.

Great deals..

I'm beginning to see new irony in the old Monty Python skit where the two ladies are talking..after saying hello to each other the one says to the other "what have you got in the cart there?"

"A piston engine"

"What did you buy that for?"

"It was on sale!"

Grounded from "garage sales?" Well, technically there are still yard sales, porch sales, moving sales, public sales....!!! :sidelaugh :thThumbsU What part of NY are you in? I'll be right up. We can fill my trailer! :fing32:
Fortunatley, I've got a pretty good woman. She just smiles, gives me the expected quick "Oh my", "What the heck are you doing?" look. "Where did all this come from?" Then, of course, "What's wrong with you? Are you nuts?" "You are grounded."

And after the normal female responses, she smiles cute, winks, and tells me dinner will be warm in the oven, or cold in the fridge, if I'm still in the garage when she goes to bed.

She doesn't like to admit it, but she get's a big kick out of riding around this "old junk" too. She often says, "I can drive that, how do I drive that?" Show me how to drive that.

I can put all sorts of different old tractors in the "shed". She doesn't mind.

If she needs more saddle time, I'll hand her another old tractor seat to sew and recover!!!

That was a JOKE Babe! Just in case she reads this.
