Which rear tires for mowing?? (pics)

I mow 10 acres for the school district (elementary grounds) we have two Grasshopper 928D ZTR mowers. The grounds man at the High school likes to run the paddle tires on the turf but I prefer to use the turf tires and then switch to the paddle tires in winter because the chains go over the paddle tires easier. I do admit that the tread does clog when the ground is moist causing slippage. Perhaps I should try the paddles on the turf?

The biggest problem with these mowers is they produce a tremendous amount of torque and the wheels spin sometimes and I don't even realize it. This action damages the turf.

Which tires do you folks think I should be running on the turf?

This reminds me of the old riddle about the barbershop in the small town. It has two barbers. You walk in and want to pick the better barber. How do you choose?

What does your turf look like compared to the high school's?

I think that with either tire, these beasts have the potential to do some serious turf damage if turned too sharply.

FWIW, the Ag lugs on my GT (liquid filled) do not mar my lawn.

Most guys i know that run Grass hoppers run ag (bar) tires on them. They claim they get less tear out when turning, plus better traction on wet grass.
I'd go with the ag's as well, they clean themselves better. Those you picture have rounded off lugs at the edge of the tire and shouldn't tear the turf too badly in turns.

Raise your 0-60 time a little bit, also, to lessen the wheelspin.:)
Those ags look a lot bigger than the turf tires. Are they compatible?

Driving style, as mentioned has a lot to do with it. Wheel spin with turfs can do more damage than ags but a lot of really tight turns with ags can do more damage than turfs.
I bet you will find that the AG tires slip LESS with the tourque of the mower. I have a lot of places where I used to scuff the grass with turffs, and not with ag's
Thanks for the input. I think I'll give the "ags" a try this summer.
Good Heavens that mower is enormous. What size is that deck?

72" deck. Its great on smooth open plain like I have here on my playgrounds and ball field.

Its a front mount ztr and so it has a very long look about it. Most ztr's are mid mount but are bouncy where the front mount ztr's don't bounce as much.

Its the largest in the Grasshopper line of commercial cutters.

I haven't heard this one, but I'm guessing you pick the barber whose own hair looks worse than the other one? (because they presumably cut each other's hair).

Oh wait, I know.. you ask one barber (doesn't matter which), "who would the other barber say cuts hair better?". No wait, that was the two witch doctors at the fork in the road, one that always tells the truth...
