Where to buy TruPower tires

2780 Views 19 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  TJR345
I am having one heck of a time finding a place in Canada to buy Carlisle TruPower tires for my X740.

I phoned my local dealership this morning, but according to them, they can't get bar tires in 26x12x12. The lady tried to tell me they don't exist, I said that's funny, I am looking at pictures of them on X7's right now!

Any ideas? I tried pricing out a few US sites, but shipping is over $100 to get the tires into Canada, pretty crazy!

If you weren't in CA, I would definitely say Miller Tire. Just bought two TruPowers from there for $220 with shipping. Carlisle stopped making those tires a couple weeks ago, though.

Really? I may just hold onto a new set I have then.

When I called Miller, that's what they said. As of a week ago, they only had 8 pairs of 23-10.5-12 and no more 23-8.5-12.
They still show up on their website (Carlisle). They may not have updated the site however. :dunno:
I checked with a regulate tire shop that carries Carlisle last year. They said they could order them at 163 + tax per tire for 23 10.5 12. It was an independent shop in Peterborough Ontario.
Carlisle Canada – Tire & Wheel Division
Conestoga Tire & Rim was founded in 1975. September, 1997, Conestoga was acquired by Carlisle Companies Inc. by its tire and wheel division. We are now legally know as Carlisle Canada.

Website is CarlisleTire.ca

Attached clip of contact page. Note email address not correct. Should be [email protected]

Depending on where you are located. I normally order from US and ship to TSB Shipping in Point Roberts WA, to save on shipping and brokerage. I plan it so I can pickup when I am visiting daughter in Vancouver.

Expecting that price in Ont $163 + tax to be 4 ply. Also it's a smaller tire.

Miller Tire price $110 (4 ply) each plus shipping or shipping included?

Casterland.com specializes in ATV/GT tires and chains - Location in Surrey.

I bought a pair of 26x12x12 tru powers last fall from stopandgotires.com and they were $207 shipped to my door. They do random specials which include free shipping. You will have to check about shipping to canaaadia though.
stopandgotires.com Carlisle Tru Powers 26x12x12 4ply $104.43, free shipping till Sept 30.

Shipping charges to Canada go up exponentially because of border paper work, and esp UPS, tacks on brokerage fees, at least $35, plus it seems sticking it to Canadians is a common practice.

Above Carlisle's in Canada $50 more than US prices? (50%)?

Numerous instances of gouging. Esp Honda. Gas cap from Honda Canada for my trimmer $20, $6 from US. Not to mention Honda car parts, don't let me go there.

Last fall bought a set of winter tires for the Tacoma $115 ea from TireRack, shipped to and picked up in Antler ND, same tires from Kal Tire $220.

So would the total price from stopandgo be $245 for two tires shipped up there? That wouldn't be so bad.

I'm from Manitoba, Canada, and am close enough to the border that I get stuff, including TruPowers from stopandgo tires, shipped to a place in North Dakota near the border and I pick them up there. Stopandgo has had free shipping on TruPowers for over a year, and keep extending the free shipping, a month at a time.

Shipping direct to Canada is very expensive for any large or higher dollar items.

As soon as you say Canada, free shipping does not apply. I have yet to see free shipping coming from US esp for tires. Definitely wouldn't be $245. I just group my orders and go on a road trip.

Well, I guess I was wrong. Confirmed the "not available/discontinued" claim to the local Deere dealer(chain)(Carlisle tire sponsor/dealer), and said the 23-10.5-12 were discontinued according to the representative they talked to. :dunno:
Not saying you were wrong, just maybe the translation from distributor to dealer may have misinformation.

When I talked to Carlisle in North Carolina, she said they had no Tru Powers in inventory, in Carlisle's distribution centers, but that didn't mean that Tru Power was no more. Seems to be more in Carlisle Canada's distribution chain.

Some dealers would have stock of some items, other items not available until Carlisle makes another production run of Tru Powers, then just a matter of waiting.

Thanks burned300. The current deal with free shipping is outstanding.
We here at LawnProTires.com are a Carlisle Direct dealer. I read this post and got the cold chills that the TruPower would be gone. So I called our Carlisle Rep. Marc about the TruPower. Marc said that he would make a call. When he called back Marc said that the TruPower is NOT being phased out, and is still being made. He did say there is some talk about changing the names of the "Power line" that is the Tru, Super, and Power Trac tires all by the same name. But that isn't the case as of yet. So feel free to order all the Power tires we have. Hope this helps.

Thanks
