I pulled the head off my Kohler K301 to de-carbon the engine. I put the head on my surface plate and found a small warpage in the center - about .0015" to perhaps as much as .002"

Does this justify having the head milled, or is it within normal parameters?

I would mill it myself, but thats just becouse I would want the boost of compression.. For normal use, I would do as G-P said. If you have the flat surface, just polish it up a little. that will bring it right into shape.

Ive done several; a few secs on a 6X48 belt sander does wonders. or you can do it on a dead flat bench or glass plate w/a piece of emery cloth.
