I just rebuilt my engine and reinstalled it yesterday. I turned the key and cranked the engine a couple of times for about 10 seconds each time. I then decided to spray a little starting fluid in the carb and just as I got ready to I heard a snap and caught a spark out of the corner of my eye by the solenoid. I then tried to crank it again and nothing. No click no nothing. I checked the fuses and one was cooked. I replaced the fuse and turned the key again and click. Another blown fuse. I then disconnected the starter cable, replaced the fuse and tried again. Click. Another blown fuse. Does anyone have any ideas? Bad solenoid? Bad starter? I am going to bypass the solenoid when I get home but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas. Any help would be helpful. Thanks. Steve.
