I am looking at a wh312,owner says one safety switch is bad and the battery tray is rusted out. I should have said I was looking at a photograph of the tractor.it looks good in photo.owner says other than those two items tractor is in good shape. he is asking $300. not fimiliar with wheel horse is it priced in the ball park. thanks Mel

I have a 1985 312-8 w/42" side discharge deck at home that I bought 4or 5 years ago and paid almost twice that for it. You didn't say if it had a mower deck or not? Safety switch and battery tray are not a big deal, I would be more concerned of the damage the rusty tray has done to the components below it (starter solenoid, key switch, voltmeter, etc.). Post the photo if you can and let the guys here have a look.
They are nice machines and will last a long time with proper maintenance.
