Mine seems to be hitting a pretty decent lick right now :goodl: I need to order a new pre-air cleaner jar bell and do some touch ups. Ive been thinking about replacing the ram piston gaskets but mine still holds a decent load up with the tractor off for about 20 minutes before it drops. So I dont really think that constitutes a "have to" repair..Im gonna have to replace an inner rim before to long due to calcium :Disgus: Its not to bad for now soIm thinking of waiting until I can just replace both rear tires as well. Mine has had the original sediment jar replaced with a lever cut off and an inline fuel filter. Not standard but it works perfectly fine so Ill probably leave it as is.
Know I need to go find some wood to knock on before something happens :sidelaugh

I forgot to add I have a squeak in my right wheel thats driving me crazy :Disgus: Cant believe I forgot it. I was just able to get the hub off and didnt find anything suggesting the brakes were squeaking. The faster you go the louder it squeaks so its pretty obvious where the problem is:banghead3 Must be something simple that Im overlooking :maddd:

Well lets see, Henry the 'N', is scattered in pieces parts across the garage for a bumper to hitch rebuild.

Mutt, the 850, is running very nicely but the governor hunts at WOT and the rear main is leaking more than my picky ways will allow. When I am allowed to do REAL work again (see the doctor middle of next month :i_praying) I will get those things fixed.

Well my father in law came over late this evening and we jerked the right rear off and and found the cause of the "squeak"..It was the back of the lugbolt heads rubbing on the tension spring. It wasnt the factory spring, looked like a larger spring off a truck. Took it off and deepened the bends on the ends and got it out of the way..I had just plain failed to see it last time. Man Im glad, I was about to have an old fashioned Irish meltdown over that darn squeak :drunkie:

The 8N is still working. I did manage to put a nice bend in a front rim, mowing, this past weekend. I need to see if I can fix that (I sure don't want to have to replace it).

The 860 is another story.
I just bought a wiring harness and junction block for it. Put it all in last night. (this is after having POR15'ed the gas tank... and formed a brand new fuel line for it... and installed a new shutoff valve). Of course... after working on it for a couple of hours last night... it won't fire. I was just too danged hot, sweaty and tired to mess with the ignition last night (I had to 'learn' how to run the wiring harness. There wasn't even a vestige of the old one left on there, to get an idea of where it was supposed to go. I THINK I got it all figured out...) When I get back to it next... I'm going to touch up the points (with a point file) and reset the gap on them. I put a whole new ignition in it (points, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, condensor) about a year ago, or so, and I was able to get it to run... but it has sat for 6 - 8 months, now, so... I'm going with the assumption that my ignition parts are all good. (I did do enough testing last night to ensure that my ignition switch and the primary of my ignition coil are all good).

All that being said and done...

Me and Joe are going to head up to Shiro this weekend to check on the hayfield. I'm thinking that we'll probably be heading back up there soon to cut and bale (I'll need the 8N for cutting and raking... the 860 would sure be nice for baling, but I don't see that happening... not this year).

Have all the parts to replace the lift cylinder, but I have been using it quite a bit lately so that has been on hold. Needs the axle seals replaced, at least one rear hub, and the brakes done. Also need an exhaust manifold so that I can attach the exhaust pipe. Soup can and two hose clamps have been working for now. Then I need to figure out how to keep the belt tight.

Why are we resurrecting a 7 year old thread instead of starting something new and current? I am sure everything in this has been long fixed or forgotten.
